If a Google Sheets integration is not syncing in Datarails, start with the Integrations screen and the affected Integration Filebox. Check whether the source connection failed, the Filebox sync failed, or data arrived but remains unmapped. Then open the exact error, verify access to both the Filebox and the Google Sheet, and use Test Sync to validate a changed setup before running a normal sync.
1. Check the source and Filebox status in Datarails
Open Integrations from the setup panel. Review both Data Sources and Integration Fileboxes; they show different parts of the pipeline. Datarails describes the flow as bringing Google Sheets data into a version tab, after which the data can be mapped to the database like another data source. Datarails’ Google Sheet Integration guide explains the source workflow, while its Integrations Screen guide describes the status views.

- Data Source status: indicates whether the latest sync completed, failed, or has not run or is disabled.
- Filebox status: inspect sync status, last-synced information, and Data Status for the particular Filebox.
- Data Status: distinguish data that synced successfully from data that is unmapped or has a mapping failure. A successful transfer does not necessarily mean the data is ready for downstream use.
This distinction helps narrow the fault: a source-level issue differs from an individual Filebox sync problem, and both differ from data that arrived but needs mapping.
2. Open the exact sync error
Select the error badge or open the affected Filebox to read its details. Datarails says the error details can include the data source, a description, resolution steps, and the last sync date. Errors may also appear under Integration Status on the Home Page. Follow the resolution shown for that source and Filebox rather than assuming one fix applies to every “Sync failed” or “Sync error” message. See Integration Filebox Troubleshooting.

3. Confirm you have access to both connected items
Syncing requires access to the Integration Filebox and to its connected data source. Being able to see a Filebox does not by itself establish that you have the permissions needed to sync its Google Sheet. If access appears to be the blocker, ask the data-source owner or an administrator to grant the required access, or use the access-request workflow available in your account. Avoid repeated retries until permissions have been checked.
4. Verify the Google Sheet, mapping, and sync settings
Confirm that the Filebox points to the intended Google Sheet and that its mapping and sync settings still match the sheet’s current structure. If the source selection or spreadsheet structure changed, use the Filebox’s error details and mapper state to identify the specific mismatch. Datarails documents the import-and-mapping flow, but does not identify one universal cause for Google Sheets sync failures.

Also note what the integration does and does not carry: Datarails states that “All comments are removed from the file before upload.” That behavior is documented in its Google Sheet Integration guide.
5. Validate changes with Test Sync, then sync when ready
When the Integrations screen offers the option, use Test Sync after changing a connection or configuration. Datarails describes Test Sync as fetching and validating data without writing it to the Filebox, so it can check a changed setup before you commit updated data. When validation is satisfactory and you intend to update the Filebox, run a normal targeted Sync. The available actions and status details are described in the Integrations Screen guide.

6. Check sync timing if the data looks stale
Datarails documents manual and scheduled syncs generally. For Google Sheets, it also supports configuring synchronization only when changes are detected in the source file. The Google Sheets guide does not establish a universal refresh interval, so an edit should not be expected to appear after a particular number of minutes. Check the Filebox’s last-synced information and its configured sync behavior before treating a short delay as a failed sync.
