Use Make’s Typeform Watch Responses (Instant) trigger, then pass the submitted website URL to a screenshot action and route its result to your next module. Make lists a dedicated Create a Screenshot of a URL action; its HTTP Make a request module is the alternative when you want to call another screenshot API. Test with a real submission before activating the scenario, because authentication, returned file format, and rendering behavior vary by provider.
Build the Make scenario
- Add the trigger. In Make’s scenario builder, add Typeform’s Watch Responses (Instant) module. Make’s Typeform instructions describe creating a webhook and then connecting your Typeform account; authenticate and choose your region if prompted. See Make’s Typeform app documentation.
- Send a test response. Submit the form with a valid website URL in the answer field you plan to use. If you are instead building a custom-webhook architecture, Make’s webhook documentation describes sending sample data to expose values for mapping. A custom webhook is not an extra required step when using the built-in Typeform trigger. See Make’s Webhooks app documentation.
- Add a screenshot action. Choose HTML/CSS to Image’s Create a Screenshot of a URL action, or choose HTTP’s Make a request module to call another screenshot service. Both appear in Make’s HTML/CSS to Image and HTTP integration listing.
- Map the URL. In the screenshot action’s URL input, select the Typeform answer containing the submitted address. For an HTTP request, configure the provider’s required URL parameter and authentication as documented by that provider.
- Map the result onward. Connect the screenshot output to a destination such as storage, email, a database, or another app. The integration listing does not establish whether a given provider returns a file, an image URL, or an asynchronous job, so inspect the module’s actual output and follow that provider’s instructions.
- Run the scenario and verify delivery. Submit another test response, inspect each module’s run details, and confirm the image or file reaches the destination. Activate the scenario only after the full path works.
Choose the screenshot route
| Route | What it does | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| HTML/CSS to Image action | Make’s integration listing includes Create a Screenshot of a URL, giving you a dedicated screenshot step in the scenario. | Required account connection, supported settings, result format, limits, and pricing are provider-specific; the listing does not compare them. |
| HTTP Make a request | Calls a different screenshot API from the scenario. | Configure the provider’s endpoint, authentication, parameters, response parsing, and any asynchronous polling or error handling from its current documentation. |
Make describes mapping as passing values retrieved by one module into another. The form’s URL answer must feed the screenshot request, but the exact output fields depend on the selected service. If browser rendering controls matter, check the provider’s documentation for viewport, wait behavior, and related options before relying on them.

Webhook delivery and reliability
Typeform says a webhook event represents a new response submission and sends response data to the configured destination. New webhook URLs must use HTTPS, and Typeform expects a 2XX acknowledgment. If the receiver does not respond within 30 seconds, Typeform treats delivery as failed and applies retries. Its documentation specifies no retry for HTTP 404 or 410; retries every 2–3 minutes for 10 hours for selected transient responses such as 429, 408, 503, and 423; and a back-off sequence for other failures. A webhook that continues to fail can be disabled automatically. See Typeform’s Webhooks API documentation.
Make documents a 200 “Accepted” default response after its Custom webhook queue accepts a request, and a 400 response if that queue is full. Those are details of Make’s Custom webhook behavior, not a guarantee for every configuration of the built-in Typeform trigger. If a screenshot provider renders too slowly for the path you have configured, use its documented asynchronous job or polling behavior inside the scenario; provider-specific timeouts and retry guarantees are not established by Make’s integration listing.

ScreenshotNeo is a hosted website screenshot API and MCP server. Its API takes a URL in one GET request and can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. You can call it from Make’s HTTP module using your API key:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com -o shot.webp
In Make, use HTTP Make a request with method GET and URL https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot; map the Typeform URL answer to the url query parameter and provide your access_key. Configure Make’s response handling according to the returned image and your destination module. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options and response details.

- The Typeform trigger does not fire: Confirm the instant trigger’s webhook and account connection are set up, then submit a fresh response and inspect the scenario run. Check that the webhook URL is HTTPS and that Typeform is receiving a successful acknowledgment.
- The URL is empty or mapped incorrectly: Submit a test response with the URL field filled in, then select the matching answer from the trigger’s output rather than typing a value manually.
- The screenshot action rejects the request: Verify the URL input, provider connection or API key, and required parameters against that provider’s documentation. Make’s listing does not specify provider authentication requirements.
- The next module receives no usable image: Inspect the screenshot module output to determine whether it contains a file, a URL, or an async job reference, then configure the destination or retrieval step for that response shape.
- A webhook delivery fails or repeats: Check the response status and timing. Typeform’s documented behavior distinguishes permanent 404/410 failures from retryable conditions; correct the receiver or scenario path and verify delivery with a new submission.
- The capture is blank or incomplete: Check the screenshot provider’s rendering and wait settings, and whether the page requires authentication or additional time to load. These controls are provider-specific and should be confirmed in its documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to create a separate Make Custom webhook for this workflow?
No. The standard route uses Typeform’s Watch Responses (Instant) module, which has its own webhook setup. Use Make’s Custom webhook only if you are deliberately designing a separate custom-webhook architecture.

Can the form submit any URL?
The URL must be present in the Typeform answer you map into the screenshot request. Whether a particular service can access or render that destination depends on the service and the target site.
