Transfer Metro Redux saves within the same console family: use PlayStation Plus cloud storage for PS4-to-PS4 or PS4-to-PS5, Xbox cloud saves between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo’s save-data transfer between Switch consoles. The steps depend on where your save is now and which console will receive it; the available platform guidance does not establish cross-platform transfers between PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
Before you transfer a Metro Redux save
Identify the console holding the save and the destination console. Keep the same PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo account in use, and check whether you are moving to another console that runs the same edition or to a different platform or edition. Platform support instructions explain general save handling, but do not provide a complete Metro Redux compatibility chart.

Transfer a PlayStation save from PS4 to PS4 or PS5
Sony’s cloud-storage method requires PlayStation Plus. Upload the save from the old PS4, then download it on the destination console. Sony’s instructions cover saved data from PS4 and PS5 consoles; PS4 saves on PS5 may need to be downloaded manually. Sony’s cloud-storage instructions provide the current steps.

- On the old PS4, upload the Metro Redux save to PlayStation Plus cloud storage using the console’s saved-data controls.
- On the destination PS4, download the save from cloud storage using the same PlayStation account.
- On PS5, open Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS4) > Download or Delete from Cloud Storage, select the Metro Redux save and download it.
Metro Redux is listed as a PS4 title playable on PS5, but the listing notes some PS4 features may be absent. It does not explicitly guarantee this game’s save transfer. Confirm that the PS4 version is installed on PS5 and that the save appears before deleting or giving up access to the old copy. See the Metro Redux PlayStation Store listing.
Transfer an Xbox save between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
Xbox’s general guidance says game saves can transfer through the cloud between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Connect the new console to the internet, sign in with the same Xbox profile used on the old console, and launch the game so its save can sync. Allow syncing to finish before continuing play. Xbox’s guidance separately says original Xbox backward-compatible titles do not transfer their saves to Xbox One or Series consoles. Do not assume that exception applies to a Metro Redux release; confirm which game version you own. The guidance does not describe transferring a save to PlayStation or Switch.

Transfer a save between Nintendo Switch consoles
Nintendo’s built-in save-data transfer moves a save from one console to another; it is not a copy. Both consoles must be available, connected to the internet and running updated system software, and the relevant users must have the same Nintendo Account linked. Nintendo says the source save is removed and an existing destination save is overwritten. Read Nintendo’s save-data transfer instructions before proceeding.

- Link the same Nintendo Account to the relevant user on each console.
- On the HOME menu, select System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data, then follow the on-screen prompts to send the save from the source console to the destination.

Can Nintendo Switch Online cloud backup be used instead?
If a game supports Nintendo Switch Online Save Data Cloud, its backup can be downloaded on another console using the same Nintendo Account. Check the game’s eShop listing for cloud-save compatibility before relying on this route. The cited Nintendo material explains cloud backup generally but does not confirm that Metro Redux is eligible. See Nintendo’s cloud-backup information.

The cited sources describe console-family transfer methods, not a way to convert a Metro Redux save from PlayStation to Xbox, Switch or another platform. They also do not certify compatibility between every distinct Metro Redux edition. Keep the original save until you have verified the transferred save loads correctly.
