To play a Java ME game on Android, copy its .jar file to the device and open it with a compatible J2ME emulator. A JAR is not an Android APK, so it cannot be installed like a regular Android app. Save-file locations vary by emulator: there is no verified universal J2ME Loader path in the available documentation.
What you need to run a JAR game on Android
A Java ME game packaged as a .jar needs a compatible J2ME emulator on Android. Copying the file transfers the game; it does not convert the JAR into an APK or install it as a native Android app. Keep the matching .jad descriptor alongside the JAR if one came with the game. Whether a particular emulator needs that descriptor depends on the emulator and game.

Older Java-capable feature phones used their own installation menus and could receive Java program files through methods such as Bluetooth, USB mass storage, or external memory. Those instructions, described in an LG feature-phone manual, are historical context—not an Android installation procedure.
Transfer and open the game
- Locate the game files. Find the
.jarand, if supplied, its matching.jad. Keep them together during transfer. - Copy them to Android. Use a file-transfer method available to you, such as copying from a computer or a cloud/file-sharing service. Android’s documented drag-and-drop method applies specifically to the Android Studio emulator: dropping a file onto its screen places it in
/sdcard/Download/. See Android’s emulator file-transfer instructions. On a physical phone, or in a different emulator, the transfer route and destination may differ. - Import the JAR in a J2ME emulator. Open the emulator and use its import or open-game action to select the file. For example, the RezRetro project README documents importing JAR and JAD files; that describes RezRetro, not a universal interface shared by all emulators.
- Launch the game. If it fails to import or run, check the emulator’s documentation for supported formats and compatibility. A transferred file can still be incompatible with a particular emulator or game.
Where are J2ME Loader save files?
The exact save location and user-accessible backup method for the current J2ME Loader Android release are not established here. Do not assume a path from another emulator applies to J2ME Loader. Check J2ME Loader’s own settings or documentation for its storage and export options, and verify which app-data directory is accessible on your Android version before copying or deleting files.

Android apps commonly keep persistent data in app-specific storage. Android’s guidance on app-specific files explains that apps use storage areas associated with them; visibility and access depend on the storage type and Android version. Android Studio’s Device Explorer documentation also notes that what can be viewed depends on the device and system image. Some private app data may not be accessible through ordinary file browsing; access can require a rooted device or a standard AOSP system image in the relevant emulator setup.
One documented example must not be mistaken for J2ME Loader’s location: RezRetro identifies data/saves/ for its own persistent RMS databases. That is a RezRetro-specific layout, not a confirmed J2ME Loader save path. If your emulator provides a supported backup or export feature, use it and confirm the resulting files are actually accessible before relying on a manual copy.
