Cloud Saves work only for games that support the feature; for a manual transfer, find the save location for that specific game and back it up before replacing anything.
Check whether the game supports Cloud Saves
Cloud Saves are supported on a game-by-game basis, not across the entire Epic Games Store catalog. In the Epic Games Launcher, open Library, select Filters, then look under Features and choose Cloud Saves. You can also check the game’s store page for a Cloud Saves feature tag. Epic describes the feature as storing save files in the cloud so they can be used on different devices: Epic Games Player Support: How to check if a game supports Cloud Saves.

Transfer a save with Cloud Saves
- Use the same Epic account on both PCs. On the old PC, connect to the internet and launch the game.
- Enable Cloud Saves. In the Launcher, open the profile menu, choose Settings, and check Enable Cloud Saves. Epic’s instructions are at Enable Cloud Saves in the Epic Games Launcher.
- Let the old PC finish saving and syncing. Close the game after it has completed its save and sync, then open the Launcher on the new PC and allow it to sync before starting the game.
Avoid switching Cloud Saves off and back on while playing on multiple PCs: Epic warns that doing so can cause conflicts.
If the Launcher reports a conflict
Check the dates or other file details shown in the prompt and choose the file that contains the latest progress. Do not choose based simply on which file came from the new or old PC. Manually copy a save when cloud sync is unavailable
If the game does not support Cloud Saves, or the expected progress does not appear after syncing, you can copy its local save folder. First make a separate backup on the old PC. Epic lists this as a usual Launcher save-copy location:

That is not a universal location for every game. Epic also lists common alternatives such as %USERPROFILE%DocumentsMy Games, %USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalLow, %USERPROFILE%Documents, savegames, %APPDATA%Ubisoft, %LOCALAPPDATA%, %USERPROFILE%Saved Games, and %APPDATA%. See Epic Games Player Support: Where can I find my local game saves?. If these places do not reveal the save, ask the game’s developer for its specific location.

- On the old PC, locate the save folder for the game and copy it to a separate backup location.
- Identify the save path and folder structure expected by that game on the new PC. Do not assume the Launcher’s save-copy directory is also the game’s active save directory.
- Copy the save into the game’s expected destination. Keep your backup until you have opened the game on the new PC and confirmed that the expected progress loads.
For example, Obsidian says the Epic Games Store version of The Outer Worlds stores saves under %USERPROFILE%Saved GamesThe Outer Worlds. That path applies to this title, not to Epic games generally: Obsidian Support: Where are the save game files located?. A USB flash drive is one optional way to carry a copied folder if direct network transfer is inconvenient; it does not add save support to a game or make incompatible saves work.

Choose the right transfer method
