The simplest route is vivo’s EasyShare app: open Phone Clone on both phones, pair them by QR code, choose what to move, and start the transfer. If your vivo offers Android’s copy-data option during setup, you can also transfer by cable or wirelessly. The exact options depend on the phones and software versions.
Before you start
- Charge both phones and make sure the vivo has enough free storage. Google says its setup transfer can take from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on how much data is being copied: Android Help.
- Keep the old phone available and follow prompts on both devices. If you need particular app data, check that app’s backup and sign-in requirements before starting.
- If you want to use Google’s setup copy, do it while setting up the vivo if possible. Google warns the option may not be available after setup.
Transfer with vivo EasyShare Phone Clone
EasyShare is vivo’s direct phone-migration option. vivo says Phone Clone transfers without consuming mobile data; it pairs the phones locally, so follow the connection prompts shown in the app. Menu wording and availability can vary by model.

- Open EasyShare on both phones. If it is not installed, install it where available, then open it.
- Choose Phone Clone on both devices.
- On the old Android phone, choose Old phone. On the vivo, choose New phone.
- When the old phone displays a QR code, scan it with the vivo.
- Select the data you want to move on the old phone, then start cloning.
- Keep the devices connected and wait for the transfer to finish.
vivo’s EasyShare guidance describes the QR pairing and file-selection process: EasyShare support. If an app does not appear on the vivo afterward, it may not have installed automatically because of permission limits. vivo says to open Files > Apps and install transferred apps manually: vivo app-install guidance.

Use Android’s copy option during vivo setup
Some new Android phones, including some vivo models, offer Google’s copy-data flow during initial setup. It provides a cable or wireless route when available, and Google says both methods support the same data types. The option is not guaranteed on every vivo, so use it only if it appears on your screen. See Google’s Android transfer instructions.

Copy with a cable
Connect the phones with a data cable that fits both ports. An adapter may be needed; check the connectors and data-transfer capability of the actual devices before buying anything. Google calls the cable option recommended, but a wireless option may be available instead.
Copy wirelessly
Choose the wireless option when setup offers it and follow the on-screen pairing steps. Google requires an internet connection for its setup transfer and recommends Wi-Fi. A phone managed by an organization may have restrictions on what can be copied.

What transfers—and what may need separate attention
Google’s list applies to its Android setup-copy flow, not to every EasyShare transfer. Depending on the device and Android version, setup copying may include apps and some app data, music, photos, videos, contacts on the phone or SIM, text and multimedia messages, most phone settings, wallpaper, and call history.

Google says its setup flow does not copy downloads such as PDFs, media in hidden folders, apps installed outside Google Play, data from apps that do not use Android backup, non-Google accounts and their data, contacts or calendars synced with other services, ringtones, or some settings. Check important files and accounts separately after migration.

WhatsApp chats and data can be restored from the cloud after you sign in and open WhatsApp on the new phone, provided backups were enabled on the old phone. Other apps may have their own backup and restore steps; consult their instructions before erasing or resetting the old device.

If something is missing
- An app transferred but is not installed: On the vivo, check Files > Apps and install it manually if it is listed.
- The Android setup copy option is gone: Google says it may only be available during setup. If you have not completed setup, look for the copy option there; otherwise use EasyShare if available or transfer individual files separately.
- The cable will not connect: Check both phones’ ports and use a compatible data cable or adapter, or choose wireless setup if offered.
- Some data is still absent: Check whether it was a download, hidden-folder item, non-Google account, or app-specific data not covered by Google’s setup flow. Use the relevant app’s backup or transfer method where possible.
- The transfer stalls or takes a long time: Keep both phones charged and connected, confirm the vivo has space, and allow time based on the volume being moved. Google’s planning estimate ranges from a few minutes to a few hours.
