You can use Nintendo’s nearby-console save-transfer process to move save data for compatible games from Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2. For Alphadia I & II, however, Nintendo and KEMCO’s published information does not confirm that a save from the original Switch edition will work with the Switch 2 Edition or Upgrade Pack. Transfer the save using Nintendo’s steps, then verify it in the exact version you plan to play; contact KEMCO before relying on cross-edition compatibility.
What you need to know about Alphadia I & II saves
KEMCO lists Alphadia I & II for Nintendo Switch, dated October 13, 2023, and for Nintendo Switch 2, dated October 1, 2026. Nintendo’s US store listing identifies the newer product as Alphadia I & II – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and lists Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Upgrade Pack options. Those listings establish that versions are available; they do not establish that a save from the original Switch edition is compatible with the Switch 2 Edition or Upgrade Pack. Nintendo says nearby-console transfer works for compatible software. Since compatibility for this particular save and edition combination is not confirmed in the official material cited here, treat the transfer and the game’s ability to use that save as two separate questions.

- On the original Nintendo Switch, check that the Alphadia I & II save is associated with the user account you intend to use.
- Connect both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 to the internet, place the consoles near each other, and make sure the relevant users on both consoles are linked to the same Nintendo Account.
- On the consoles, follow Nintendo’s nearby-console save-data transfer instructions to send the save from the source Switch to Switch 2.
- Open the intended Alphadia I & II version on Switch 2 and check whether it recognizes the transferred save before continuing your progress.
Nintendo says this nearby-console method does not require a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Do not try to move the save by copying it to a microSD card; Nintendo’s cited procedure transfers it between consoles.

Nearby transfer and cloud saves are different options
Nintendo’s store listing presents Save Data Cloud as a Nintendo Switch Online feature. That is distinct from nearby-console transfer, which Nintendo says does not require a membership. The options also differ in what they depend on:

If both consoles are available, nearby transfer is the clearly documented route for compatible software without a Switch Online membership. If you plan to use cloud saves, check that the relevant game version supports them and that the save is available under the Nintendo Account you will use.

Check the edition before depending on the save
The Switch 2 store listing includes multiple version options, but the examined US listing does not establish purchase eligibility, pricing, or save compatibility across regions. Check the Nintendo eShop listing for your region to identify the version you own or intend to use. KEMCO’s game page describes Alphadia I & II as a single-player RPG and lists Nintendo Switch among its platforms; its save-incompatibility note concerns PS4 and PS5, not Switch-to-Switch 2 compatibility.
