There is no documented one-click import for moving a recurring Gyre schedule into Restream. Plan to rebuild the schedule in Restream, reconnect each YouTube destination, and create a fresh YouTube event for every future date. You can usually select an existing scheduled event through Restream’s YouTube integration; Custom RTMP is another option when manual stream credentials are appropriate.
What transfers—and what you must rebuild
A Gyre schedule and a YouTube Live event are separate parts of a streaming setup. Gyre’s scheduler manages recurring streams in Gyre, while Restream’s setup lets you select an existing YouTube event or create a new one. The official instructions reviewed do not document importing a Gyre recurring schedule into Restream, so treat this as a manual migration. Restream also cautions that a YouTube event can be used to go live only once. Reusing a stream configuration does not make its YouTube event reusable for each occurrence of a series: make a new event for each future date. Restream’s event guide covers event creation and this limitation.

Record the details for every series in Gyre before rebuilding it. The available documentation does not establish that Gyre offers a complete schedule export, so check your account and copy details manually if needed.

- YouTube event URL, title, description, thumbnail, privacy setting, scheduled date and time, and time zone.
- The source video or playlist, and whether the stream is a prerecorded loop or a live encoder feed.
- Whether YouTube auto-start and auto-stop are enabled, and whether the current workflow depends on manual controls.
Restream’s event setup includes fields for event details such as title, description, date and time, thumbnail, privacy, and channel. Use your inventory to recreate those settings rather than relying on the old event to carry over.
Choose how Restream will connect to YouTube

Restream documents the native connection and Custom RTMP workflows in its YouTube channel connection guide. Prefer the native integration if selecting the existing event works for your account and you want API-dependent features. Choose Custom RTMP if entering credentials manually fits your workflow and plan.

Connect an existing YouTube event in Restream
- Connect your channel: In Restream, add or connect the YouTube channel you use for the recurring series, and complete YouTube’s authorization prompts.
- Open the intended stream or event: Edit the relevant Restream stream configuration or scheduled event.
- Select the YouTube destination: Edit the YouTube channel destination and choose the existing scheduled YouTube event from the event dropdown.
- Save and verify: Confirm the selected event is the intended one, then check the event title, privacy, schedule, and other details in YouTube.
If you use Custom RTMP instead, open the intended event in YouTube Live Control Room, copy its stream URL and stream key, add a Custom RTMP channel in Restream, enter those credentials, and enable that destination for the stream. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it or include it in screenshots. Remember that Custom RTMP requires a paid Restream plan and does not provide API-dependent Chat or Analytics features for that custom channel.

Restream supports scheduling from an existing stream card, a Studio setup, an RTMP setup, or prerecorded videos and playlists. Choose the workflow that matches what you actually send to YouTube, then create a separate YouTube event for every date in the series. Restream’s guidance on creating scheduled events and scheduling prerecorded videos describes these options.

- Set up or select the Restream stream configuration you intend to reuse.
- Create a new event for the next occurrence, entering the date, time, time zone, title, description, thumbnail, privacy, and YouTube destination.
- Repeat for each future date. Do not schedule multiple occurrences against one YouTube event.
- For prerecorded content, select the intended video or playlist and confirm the scheduled event is set to start automatically at its scheduled time.
Google’s YouTube Live API documentation describes recurring or scheduled broadcasts as separate liveBroadcast resources that can be bound to a reusable liveStream resource. That is consistent with reusing stream settings while creating a separate event object for each broadcast.
Verify the new workflow before retiring Gyre
- Confirm that each Restream event points to the correct YouTube channel and event.
- Check the event’s visibility, title, description, thumbnail, date, time, and time zone.
- Verify that the correct video, playlist, Studio setup, or encoder input is selected.
- Check YouTube auto-start and auto-stop settings against the way you intend to start and end each stream.
- Test the new configuration without accidentally starting a one-time YouTube event ahead of schedule. Restream cautions users not to go live to an event before its scheduled time.
Plans and availability to check
Restream says Events are available on all plans; event thumbnails on its free plan carry Restream branding. Custom RTMP requires a paid Restream plan. Gyre’s October 2026 vendor update lists its scheduler on the free trial, Start+, and PRO+, but not Start. Plan names and entitlements can change, so verify the features shown in your own accounts before moving the schedule.
