Search a country-specific streaming guide such as JustWatch, check whether the result is included with a subscription or costs extra to rent or buy, then confirm the offer on the streaming provider’s own site before paying. To keep track of titles, save them to a watchlist and enable any availability or episode alerts you want.
How to find where a title is streaming
- Set your country or region. Streaming rights differ by location and can change. JustWatch says availability may vary by region and change over time; Google TV also notes that discovery options can depend on country, language, and device. Start with the region where you plan to watch, not a result for another country. See JustWatch’s terms and Google TV’s overview.
- Search the exact title. Enter the movie or show name in a cross-service guide. Check the result details so you do not mistake a different film with the same name, a remake, or a separate series for the title you want. JustWatch describes its service as a guide for finding movies and shows across providers; its support page explains the guide.
- Read the offer type. A service logo alone does not tell you whether viewing is included in a subscription. Look for whether the listing is subscription access, free or ad-supported viewing, rental, or purchase. Rental and purchase offers are separate from subscription-included access. JustWatch describes these offer types in its support documentation.
- Filter for services you use. If the guide offers provider filters, select the services you already subscribe to. JustWatch describes provider filters in its app listing. Google TV can use services you select to shape discovery; see Google TV’s recommendations help.
- Confirm with the provider. Open the title’s page in the streaming service’s own app or website before subscribing, renting, or buying. Guides are useful for discovery, but the documented regional and time-based variation means you should treat a result as a lead, not a permanent guarantee.
- Save titles you want to revisit. Add them to a watchlist and check the service’s alert settings. JustWatch supports watchlists and TV-show tracking; its support materials describe progress tracking and alerts for new episodes or seasons, and its terms describe availability-change notifications when enabled. Which streaming guide should you use?
Choose based on the task you need to do. The published service materials describe features, not a controlled, independent accuracy ranking, so there is no established basis here for calling one guide the most accurate or complete.

How to keep a watchlist useful
- Save the title, then track the right thing. A movie watchlist helps you return to a film later. For a series, use show tracking if available so you can follow viewing progress or receive new-episode and season alerts.
- Review notification settings. Alerts may depend on the service’s settings; do not assume they are enabled automatically. JustWatch’s terms describe availability-change notifications when enabled, while its tracking support describes episode or season notifications.
- Use one guide as a shortlist, not as a permanent record of rights. A title can move between providers or have different offers in different regions. Recheck the listing when you are ready to watch.
How to compare guides for your needs
Before settling on a guide, check five practical things: whether it covers your country and providers; whether it separates subscription, free or ad-supported, rental, and purchase offers; whether it lets you filter to services you actually use; what watchlist and notification features it supports; and how easily you can open the provider’s own listing to verify an offer. These are useful comparison criteria, but published feature descriptions do not establish a head-to-head accuracy winner.
