To see a child family member’s recent PS5 playtime, use the PlayStation Family app: select the child, scroll to Activity, and check the time-played graph and Most Played list. The report covers the last seven days. On the console, PS5 settings let an authorized adult manage a child’s playtime limits; they are not a general activity-history screen. PlayStation’s documented report is for child family accounts, not a confirmed personal playtime tracker for adult accounts.
See a child’s recent playtime in the PlayStation Family app
- Open the PlayStation Family app and select the child from the home screen.
- Scroll to the Activity widget.
- Review the Time Played graph for the last seven days and the Most Played list for time spent in individual games and apps.
- Open or refresh the app to update the playtime data.
PlayStation describes the app as a free download for iOS and Android. Its US parental-controls page says it shows a child’s playtime hours from the past week. The app also has a Playing Now widget showing the game a child is playing and its age rating. PlayStation advises closing games before the child logs in for accurate current-session information.

Use PS5 settings to manage limits, not review activity history
To set or adjust a child’s playtime controls on the console, go to Settings > Family and Parental Controls > Family Management, select the child, set the child’s time zone if needed, then open Playtime Settings. Set the desired controls and save them. PlayStation’s playtime controls guide documents this path.

These settings control when and how long a child may play; they do not replace the app’s recent-activity report. You can specify duration and playable hours by day, and choose whether the child receives a notification or is logged out when time ends. A child can request more time from a PS5 reminder notification, which an authorized adult can respond to. Playtime restrictions apply across PS5 and PS4 when the child uses both consoles.

Who can see the report and change settings?
The documented activity report and controls are tied to a child account in a PlayStation family. To adjust playtime controls, the child must have a separate account in the family, an adult must be signed in as the family manager or an appointed parent/guardian, and the child’s time zone must be set. PlayStation says family managers, parents, and guardians can see a child’s activity through the Family app.

PlayStation’s instructions do not establish that an adult can view an equivalent Activity report for their own account. Privacy settings separately govern who can see a user’s gaming history and current activity; access to a child’s family report should not be treated as access to every player’s usage.
Can you track your own PS5 hours?
The official PlayStation pages cited here document a recent-activity report for child family members, not a universal personal or lifetime playtime counter for adult accounts. If you are looking for your own total hours, these sources do not confirm that the Family app provides it.
