Set up Hindi keyword performance tracking in Search Console
- Open Google Search Console and choose your site property.
- Open Performance and select Search results.
- Enable the metrics relevant to your question: clicks, impressions, average CTR and average position.
- Choose a date range and, if needed, filter by search type.
- Use the Queries tab to find queries for which your site appeared. Then inspect Pages, Countries, Devices and Dates to understand which pages and contexts contributed to the totals.
Build the query set around the actual ways customers search: include Hindi written in Devanagari, Romanized Hindi, and relevant mixed Hindi-English wording. This is a practical list-building approach, not a Google-prescribed taxonomy. Preserve the exact query spelling and script in your tracking log rather than silently standardizing variants.

Google says the language of a query helps determine how most results are displayed, but the query language alone does not define every result or every shopper’s experience. A screenshot is useful when you need to inspect the visible page: which result types appeared, whether Google showed shopping or other prominent features, and how your listing was presented in that one observation. It is not a record of every result a Hindi-speaking shopper sees.

Keep a capture log
For every saved screenshot, record the following details alongside the image. This is a reproducibility method, not a Google-mandated checklist.
- Exact query: retain the original script, spelling and mixed-language wording.
- Capture date and time: include a time zone if observations may be compared across locations.
- Location: record target country and, where relevant, city or other location setting.
- Device and viewport: note mobile or desktop and the viewport dimensions when available.
- Google interface language and search type: distinguish the interface language from the query’s script.
- Personalization context: record whether the browser was signed in and whether the environment may have recent search history.
Hold these conditions as stable as practical when comparing captures. If a condition changes, note it rather than treating the screenshots as directly equivalent.
Compare like with like
Compare screenshots for the same exact query, location, device and interface language, and check their timestamps and personalization context. Treat differences in visible layout or result types as qualitative observations. For site performance, compare Search Console date periods using matched query, page, country and device filters where possible.

A manual search may not show your site even when the query appears in Search Console. Google notes that results can differ with time, place, device and recent history. Search Console’s Performance report documentation explains this context caveat.
Interpret the metrics without mistaking them for a fixed rank
- Clicks count clicks from Google Search results to your property.
- Impressions count appearances in Google Search results under Search Console’s reporting rules.
- CTR is clicks divided by impressions.
- Average position is an average across impressions, not a promise that the page occupies one fixed rank for every search.
Google recommends looking at position changes over time rather than relying only on an absolute position value. Result features can also occupy positions differently, so a screenshot and average position need not appear to agree. Use the screenshot to inspect a particular page; use matched Search Console periods to judge performance trends. Check for translated results and localized-page limits
Google may show translated titles and snippets for pages originally written in another language, on desktop as well as mobile. When reviewing a Hindi SERP, note whether a result appears translated instead of assuming the source page itself is in Hindi. If your ecommerce site serves different language or regional versions, screenshots alone cannot establish that Google crawled or indexed every version. Google warns that locale-adaptive pages, which change content based on a visitor’s perceived country or preferred language, might not all be crawled, indexed or ranked for different locales. Search Console omits anonymized queries from the query table, even though those queries are included in chart totals unless a query filter is applied. As a result, the visible query rows may not add up to the totals shown in the chart.
Google’s documented export limits are 1,000 rows through the Search Console user interface and up to 50,000 rows per day per site per search type through the Search Analytics API and Looker Studio connector, subject to availability. These are export ceilings, not a guarantee that every matching query is available. Common tracking mistakes and fixes
- Different spellings are merged into one keyword: keep Devanagari, Romanized and mixed-language variants as separate exact query strings until the data supports grouping them.
- A screenshot is treated as the rank everyone sees: annotate its time, place, device and search context; use Search Console for aggregated performance trends.
- Average position is read as a fixed ranking: interpret it as an impression-weighted average and compare matched periods.
- Visible query rows do not match chart totals: account for anonymized queries that are withheld from the table.
- A translated snippet is mistaken for Hindi page content: inspect the destination page and note translated presentation separately.
- One localized screenshot is taken as proof of indexing: check the site’s language and regional URL setup and use Search Console data; locale-adaptive delivery can complicate crawling and indexing.
