Choose an Apify screenshot Actor
Apify Store screenshot tools are individual Actors, so check the chosen Actor’s own input schema and output description before running it. Listings describe different options, including full-page or viewport captures, image formats, device presets, and batches of URLs; these are not platform-wide defaults.

Compare candidate Actors on the details that matter for your capture:
- Whether it supports full-page capture, viewport-only capture, or selecting an element.
- Whether its input accepts one URL or multiple URLs, and the exact field name it expects.
- Which outputs it produces, such as PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF.
- Whether it offers viewport dimensions or device presets.
- How it handles long pages, lazy-loaded content, maximum capture height, and per-URL timeouts.
Use the Actor’s current Store page and schema to verify each option; do not copy fields from a different Actor’s example.

Run a full-page screenshot in Apify Console
- Open the page for the screenshot Actor you selected in Apify Store.
- Review its input fields and output documentation. Identify the URL field and the documented full-page option.
- Enter the target page URL and enable full-page capture using that Actor’s field or control.
- Start the Actor. For example, one Actor’s page describes pasting URLs in Console and clicking Start; controls vary by Actor.
- Inspect the run output in Console or retrieve it using the method the Actor documents. Some Actors expose screenshot URLs; others may provide dataset items or different output fields.
A full-page capture is intended to include the scrollable page rather than only the visible viewport. That does not guarantee every Actor will capture an arbitrarily long page or load all content; check its documented height, scrolling, and timeout controls.
Run the Actor through the API
For programmatic use, the documented pattern is an HTTP POST to the selected Actor’s Run Actor endpoint with that Actor’s JSON input. The API example requires an Apify account and API token. The endpoint identifies the Actor by its creator and Actor name, so use the exact endpoint shown on the Actor’s API page and keep your token private.
One Actor’s API example uses a urls array containing a page URL. Another Actor’s example uses a singular url, a device preset, an output format, and fullPage: true. These are examples from different Actors, not a combined payload. Use the one matching the Actor you selected.

Example input: match the Actor’s schema
If your selected Actor documents an input shaped like a urls array, its input may resemble this documented pattern:

Send the request and retrieve the result
Copy the Run Actor endpoint and input format from the selected Actor’s API page, then send an HTTP POST with the JSON input and your Apify API token using the authentication method documented there. After the run, inspect its output in Console or retrieve dataset items or other result fields as the Actor specifies. The exact endpoint, authentication details, and result format are Actor-specific; the cited Actor API example does not establish one universal request body or screenshot URL field.
Understand full-page settings and edge cases
In one Actor’s OpenAPI schema, fullPage means capturing the entire scrollable page instead of only the viewport. That same schema says an elementSelector, when supplied, overrides the full-page option. Treat this as behavior of that Actor’s schema, not a guarantee about other screenshot Actors.

Troubleshoot common problems
The Actor rejects the input
Likely cause: The JSON field names or value types do not match the selected Actor’s schema, or an example from another Actor was used.
Fix: Return to the Actor’s input schema, use its exact field names and accepted values, and remove undocumented options.
The result shows only the visible viewport
Likely cause: Full-page capture was not enabled, or the Actor does not support it in the way expected.

Content near the bottom is missing
Likely cause: The page loads content during scrolling, or the Actor limits the capture height.
Fix: Check whether the Actor documents lazy-load scrolling and a maximum height. If it supports scrolling to trigger lazy loading, enable the relevant option and allow sufficient timeout according to its schema.
You cannot find the screenshot in the run output
Likely cause: The Actor exposes results differently from another Actor’s example; it may use screenshot URLs, dataset items, or another output structure.
Fix: Follow the selected Actor’s output documentation and inspect the run in Apify Console before assuming a particular response field.
