Chromium’s DevTools includes a full-page screenshot capability for capturing content beyond the visible viewport. For one long element rather than the entire page, use Capture node screenshot. Chromium’s official text guidance confirms the full-page feature but does not document its current menu sequence, so check the controls in your installed build rather than relying on an unverified shortcut.
Capture a whole page with DevTools
Open the page you want to capture in Chromium and use DevTools’ full-page screenshot capability. Chrome for Developers lists full-page capture among its screenshot techniques, but its text page does not spell out the exact clicks or keyboard shortcut. The available official guidance therefore confirms the capability, not a specific current command-menu sequence. Look for the full-page option in the screenshot controls in the Chromium build you are using.

Full-page capture is the right scope when you need the page beyond the current viewport. If your installed build’s controls differ, consult that build’s DevTools UI rather than assuming a shortcut documented for another version.

Capture one element that extends below the viewport
If you need a particular element—not the whole document—use the node screenshot command. Chrome’s Chrome 89 release notes describe this method and state that it captures the full node, including content below the fold.

- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
- Open DevTools and select the Elements panel.
- Find the element in the page’s DOM tree.
- Right-click that element and choose Capture node screenshot.
This is useful for a long article card, table, or other individual node. It is not a substitute for a whole-page capture if you need content outside that element.
Use Chromium from the command line
Headless Chrome supports --screenshot for saving a screenshot and --window-size for setting the browser window dimensions. The documented example saves screenshot.png in the current working directory:

chrome --headless --screenshot --window-size=1280,800 https://example.com
This command is useful for command-line capture, but the documented reference does not establish that the default screenshot covers the full document. A window size sets the viewport; it should not be treated as proof that the output includes all below-the-fold content. Check the resulting image against your requirement before using this workflow for full-page output.

Quick Recap
Troubleshooting
- The image only shows the viewport: The Headless
--screenshotreference does not guarantee a full-document image. Use DevTools full-page capture and verify that the result extends to the page bottom. - You only need one long section: Select its node in Elements and use Capture node screenshot, rather than capturing the entire page.
- You expected an image but received a PDF:
--print-to-pdfis document output. Use a screenshot method for a raster image. - You cannot find the full-page control: The official text page names the capability but does not provide exact current menu clicks. Check the screenshot controls in your installed Chromium version; do not assume an unverified shortcut.
