Press F5 on a keyboard to cycle Minecraft’s camera through first person, third-person rear, and third-person front. On a Bedrock controller, press Up on the D-pad. You can also choose a perspective in Bedrock’s Settings.
Change perspective with a keyboard
Press F5 repeatedly until the view you want appears. The cycle is first person, third-person rear, third-person front, then back to first person. The key is the default; Minecraft lets you customize controls in its options menu. Minecraft Education’s keyboard guide lists the sequence, and Microsoft’s Bedrock camera documentation also identifies F5 as a perspective control.

Switch views on Bedrock without a keyboard
Controller
Press Up on the D-pad to cycle perspectives. If the control scheme has been changed or the button does not work, choose the view in Settings instead. Microsoft documents the D-pad input for Bedrock; mappings can vary with the configured control scheme. See Bedrock control schemes.
Settings or touchscreen
Open Settings and select the perspective you want. The standard choices are first person, third person, and third-person front. This route also works when you are playing on a touchscreen; touchscreen layouts and controls vary, so there is not one universal on-screen camera button to look for.

If F5 or the D-pad does nothing
- Try Fn+F5 on a laptop. Some keyboards place function keys behind an Fn layer, so the exact key combination depends on your device.
- Check the current binding. Open Options or Settings and look under Controls for the perspective control. Minecraft controls are customizable; restore defaults if you want the original mapping. Minecraft’s controls guide explains how to customize them.
- Check for a forced camera in a Bedrock creator world. A
/camera ... setcommand can override the normal perspective. Microsoft notes that pressing the perspective-change control while a forced camera is active displays a message and blocks the change. Clear the camera override to resume ordinary perspective switching; see the camera documentation.
