How do I switch back to the new Reddit?
Use the equivalent address on the current Reddit website: replace old.reddit.com with www.reddit.com or reddit.com, leaving the rest of the path unchanged. This is the reverse of the documented hostname change, not a separate interface setting.
Open r/all on old Reddit
If you are trying to reach r/all, open old.reddit.com/r/all. Reddit Help still lists that address as the route to r/all: What’s the difference between r/all, r/popular, news and my home feed?

Reddit’s April 2, 2026 changelog said entry points and links to r/all were being removed from the newer experience, while people using old.reddit.com or settings that default to old Reddit would continue to access it as expected. The announcement described a rollout in progress, so the direct old Reddit URL is the clearest documented route if the link you followed behaves differently: Reddit changelog: Changes to r/all.

Reddit’s changelog refers to settings that default to old Reddit, but the official material cited here does not establish a current settings-menu path or confirm that the option is available to every account. If you need old Reddit for a particular page, use the old.reddit.com hostname directly rather than relying on an unverified preference.

Does this work in the Reddit app?
No. The hostname method changes which version of Reddit’s website a browser loads; it is not a control for changing the interface throughout the native iOS or Android app. Reddit documents app feed navigation separately from Reddit.com navigation, with different lists of feeds for the app and website: Reddit Help: feed differences.
Why Display Mode will not switch Reddit versions
Display Mode controls light or dark appearance, not whether Reddit loads the old or current website. Reddit’s February 4, 2026 changelog says Auto became the default Display Mode preference and matches system settings on the web. Changing it will not replace the hostname or switch interface versions: Reddit changelog: Display Mode updates.

Why might a page or community look different?
Check the hostname in the address bar first. A page on old.reddit.com is using the old experience; reddit.com or www.reddit.com loads the current website. Reddit’s community-settings guidance distinguishes controls available in old Reddit, the current website, and mobile, so do not assume that every setting or control appears in the same place across them: Community settings.
