How to Switch a YouTube Live Stream from OBS to Livepush in India

Set OBS to send its feed to Livepush, configure the intended YouTube event as a destination, and verify both the Livepush input and YouTube preview before broadcasting.

To route a YouTube live stream through Livepush, change OBS’s destination to Livepush, then set up YouTube as an outbound destination in Livepush: OBS → Livepush → YouTube. OBS needs Livepush’s input server URL and stream key; Livepush needs the stream key for the intended YouTube event. Verify the feed in Livepush and the correct event’s preview in YouTube Live Control Room before you go live.

The documented setup is a general workflow, not an India-specific procedure. The available official instructions do not identify a special regional server, key format, or India-only setting.

Before switching: prepare the YouTube event

  1. Open YouTube Studio and create or select the live event. In Live Control Room, make sure you have the intended event and its stream details. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours; this is a possible activation delay, not a guaranteed wait or a Livepush-specific delay. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains event setup and connection.
  2. Plan a test or transition window. The setup instructions do not establish that an already-running stream can be moved between destinations without interruption. Test the new route before relying on it for a scheduled broadcast.
  3. Keep the two sets of credentials separate. OBS will use the URL and key Livepush gives you for its input. Livepush will use the YouTube event’s stream key for its outbound destination. A YouTube stream key is a credential; do not share it publicly.

Route OBS through Livepush

  1. In your Livepush dashboard, open the live input and copy the RTMP server URL and stream key shown for that input. Livepush’s OBS setup guide describes this workflow.
  2. In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Set the service to Custom, then paste Livepush’s server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields. Save the settings.
  3. Start streaming from OBS. Check the Livepush dashboard and confirm that it is receiving your feed. An OBS indication that you are streaming only confirms that OBS is sending to its configured destination; it does not confirm that YouTube is receiving the feed or that the right event is selected.

Set YouTube as a Livepush destination

Livepush documents both a channel-connection option and a manual event-key method. Dashboard choices and labels can change, so check the current interface. The manual method is useful when you need to specify a particular YouTube event.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Manual connection with the event’s stream key

  1. In the Livepush stream dashboard, choose Add Destination and select YouTube.
  2. In YouTube Live Control Room, open the event you intend to broadcast and copy its RTMP stream key.
  3. Enter that YouTube key in Livepush’s YouTube destination configuration. Save the destination and switch it on. Follow the current dashboard prompts if the interface presents additional fields.
  4. Return to YouTube Live Control Room and verify that the intended event receives the feed and shows a preview before you click Go live for a scheduled encoder stream.

If the channel is not linked, Livepush says the manual key setup must be repeated for each YouTube event. Its manual-connection guide also says this method does not show YouTube live comments in Livepush’s multichat overlay. See Livepush’s manual YouTube connection guide for its described steps.

When using an adapter, if the device is recognized as USB 2.0, try using the other side with the USB-C port. Simply flip the capture card and reconnect it to be recognized as USB 3.0

Channel connection

Livepush lists connecting a YouTube channel as another destination setup option. This is distinct from manually entering a key for an event. Check the options and authorization flow currently offered in your account; the available documentation does not establish that every account sees identical choices. The destination overview is at Livepush’s supported destinations page.

Check the picture, sound, and stream health

  • Confirm both hops: first confirm OBS is feeding Livepush, then confirm YouTube’s preview belongs to the intended event.
  • Test representative content: use the audio and movement you expect during the broadcast, and check for dropped frames, missing audio, or a frozen picture.
  • Choose settings for your connection: YouTube recommends a bitrate appropriate to the available connection and provides encoder specifications and quality ranges in its encoder settings guide. Its live streaming tips include preflight guidance. The Livepush input instructions cited here describe RTMP; do not assume a particular account offers RTMPS for this route without checking its dashboard.
  • Protect the YouTube key: YouTube describes stream keys as the stream’s “password and address.” If a key is exposed, use YouTube’s stream settings to reset it; only a channel owner or manager can reset a key, according to YouTube’s stream settings guidance.
  • End the broadcast deliberately: follow YouTube’s encoder instructions to stop the stream and end the event. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; that is its stated platform behavior, not a guarantee for longer streams. See YouTube’s encoder guide.

Common problems and fixes

  • OBS says it is streaming, but Livepush shows no feed: check that OBS is set to Custom and that its server URL and key are the Livepush input credentials, not the YouTube event details. Save corrected settings and reconnect.
  • Livepush receives video, but YouTube has no preview: confirm that the YouTube destination is saved and enabled, and that its key belongs to the intended event. Recheck the preview in that event’s Live Control Room.
  • The wrong event receives the feed: compare the event selected in YouTube with the stream key entered in Livepush. Change the destination configuration to the intended event’s key, then verify its preview before going live.
  • YouTube does not allow the first stream to start: first-time activation can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube. Check the channel’s Live Control Room readiness rather than treating this as a Livepush delay.
  • Viewers report choppy video or missing sound: inspect the feed at Livepush and YouTube, test representative audio and motion, and use YouTube’s encoder guidance to select settings suited to the connection. A successful connection alone does not prove that the broadcast quality is acceptable.
  • YouTube comments are missing from Livepush multichat: Livepush documents this limitation for the manual event-key setup. Check whether channel connection is available in your dashboard if multichat comments matter.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is a YouTube channel that keeps uploaded videos live around the clock, StreamNeo is a separate option from routing a live OBS production through Livepush. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams to YouTube only and does not go live from a camera.
