Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUse BoxCast’s built-in YouTube integration for the simplest setup: enable YouTube Live ahead of time, link your YouTube account in BoxCast, then select YouTube as a destination when scheduling a BoxCast broadcast. If you need manual routing, configure a reusable RTMP destination with YouTube’s stream URL and key—but schedule a YouTube event for each broadcast.
Before you start
- Activate YouTube Live early. BoxCast’s support instructions say YouTube Live activation can take up to 24 hours. Enable live streaming on the YouTube account you plan to use before event day.
- Have a BoxCast video source. The YouTube destination sends a BoxCast broadcast onward; it does not replace the source feeding video into BoxCast. BoxCast lists Spark, the Broadcaster App, Producer, RTMP-compatible encoders, and SRT-compatible encoders as source options. BoxCaster and BoxCaster Pro are supported, but BoxCast says their sale has been discontinued.
- Decide whether to use the native integration or RTMP. The native integration is the ordinary choice. RTMP is useful when you specifically need a manual destination configuration.
BoxCast’s support article, “Stream to YouTube using BoxCast’s Integration” (September 18, 2024), says YouTube Live simulcasting is available on any BoxCast plan. Check your current account dashboard if plan terms or interface behavior differ.

How do I connect my YouTube account to BoxCast?
- In the BoxCast Dashboard, open Settings > Integrations.
- Add YouTube, choose the Google account that owns the channel, and grant BoxCast the requested permissions.
- Confirm that the account has YouTube Live enabled. If setup is for an upcoming event, leave time for activation; BoxCast says it may take 24 hours.
The dashboard labels above are those given in BoxCast’s support instructions published September 18, 2024. If a label has changed, use the current Integrations area in your BoxCast account or contact BoxCast support.
Schedule a BoxCast broadcast to YouTube
- Create a broadcast in BoxCast and choose the appropriate BoxCast source.
- In the broadcast’s destination settings, select YouTube.
- Choose the linked YouTube account and the desired privacy setting, then complete the BoxCast scheduling flow.
- For a rehearsal, set the YouTube destination to Unlisted or Private so you can check the stream without making it public.
- Add the thumbnail in the YouTube event itself. A thumbnail set on the BoxCast scheduled broadcast does not carry over to social destinations.
With BoxCast’s native integration, BoxCast says the YouTube stream appears when the BoxCast broadcast goes live. The workflow handles the YouTube destination as part of BoxCast scheduling.

When to use a manual RTMP destination
Choose RTMP if the native account connection is unsuitable or you specifically need to configure a manual output destination. You will need a YouTube stream URL and stream key, and you must create a YouTube event for each broadcast.
- In YouTube Studio, schedule a stream using streaming software. Set the event title, description, visibility, and other YouTube details.
- Enable YouTube’s Auto-Start and Auto-Stop settings as described in BoxCast’s RTMP instructions. Copy the YouTube Stream URL and Stream Key.
- In BoxCast, open Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and choose an RTMP destination.
- Paste YouTube’s Stream URL into Server URL and its Stream Key into Stream Key. BoxCast’s YouTube-specific instructions say not to use authentication and to leave Max Resolution at None (use highest). Save the integration.
- When scheduling the BoxCast broadcast, select the saved integration under RTMP Destinations.
The RTMP destination can be reused in BoxCast, but YouTube still needs an event scheduled for each stream. For a generic RTMP destination, BoxCast says the broadcast name and description are not passed through; enter that metadata in YouTube. These steps follow BoxCast’s RTMP support instructions published September 18, 2024.

Native integration or RTMP: which should you choose?
| Consideration | Built-in YouTube integration | Reusable RTMP destination |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Link the YouTube account in BoxCast, then select it when scheduling. | Copy the YouTube stream URL and key into a BoxCast RTMP integration. |
| YouTube event scheduling | BoxCast’s native workflow handles the destination event as part of broadcast scheduling. | Schedule a YouTube event for each broadcast. |
| Metadata | Designed for YouTube simulcasting. | BoxCast says generic RTMP does not pass the BoxCast broadcast name and description; set these in YouTube. |
| Best fit | The default for a normal BoxCast-to-YouTube broadcast. | A specific need for manual RTMP configuration. |
Do you need to buy a BoxCaster?
No. A BoxCaster is not required to send a BoxCast broadcast to YouTube. You do need a source that feeds video into BoxCast, and BoxCast lists several source types, including Spark, the Broadcaster App, Producer, and compatible RTMP or SRT encoders. BoxCast says BoxCaster and BoxCaster Pro remain supported, while their sale has been discontinued; they are not a purchase prerequisite.
Why isn’t my BoxCast stream showing up on YouTube?
The broadcast cannot be posted
Check that the YouTube account has live-streaming features enabled. If live streaming was just activated, allow for the activation time BoxCast describes, which may be 24 hours.

You cannot find the YouTube event
Open the BoxCast broadcast details, use the YouTube Live tab, and open YouTube Live Control Room to inspect the associated video.
The account link appears broken
BoxCast documents a relinking procedure: edit the event, disable the YouTube integration, save, then edit the event again and relink the integration. For an account-link error, BoxCast also suggests removing the BoxCast application from Google permissions and retrying the connection.

- Advanced Video Processing & Overlays – Includes de-interlacing, scaling, cropping, aspect ratio conversion, and support for text, image, and clock overlays for branded output.
- Simultaneous Streaming & Recording – Record video directly to internal storage (128 GB), external USB storage, or network locations while streaming live, with support for scheduled and loop recording.
- Flexible Network & Connectivity Options – Equipped with Gigabit Ethernet with PoE and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, plus support for 4G/5G USB modems (not supplied) for fixed or mobile deployments.
The RTMP broadcast does not reach the scheduled event
Check that the Server URL and Stream Key were copied correctly and that the YouTube event is scheduled for that broadcast. A saved BoxCast RTMP destination does not remove the need to schedule each YouTube event.

BoxCast’s workflow is for sending a BoxCast broadcast to YouTube. If instead you want a pre-recorded video or playlist to keep a YouTube channel live around the clock, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service for that use case: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops the uploaded video without a computer or home connection staying on.
