Yes—you can stream multiple events on YouTube at once. If the events should show the same incoming video and audio, create separate event broadcasts and connect them to one shared stream. If they need different feeds or streaming settings, create separate streams and configure your encoder to send each one. Before scheduling, check YouTube’s active-stream limits and make sure your channel is eligible to go live.
Choose the setup that matches your events
On YouTube, a broadcast is a distinct event video viewers can watch, while a stream is the incoming feed sent to YouTube. Each broadcast is associated with one incoming stream. A stream can be associated with more than one broadcast, including broadcasts that are live at the same time.

| What viewers should see | YouTube setup | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| The same feed on separate event videos | Create a broadcast for each event and bind them to one shared stream. | Both event videos show the same incoming content. Start and manage each broadcast as its own event. |
| Different simultaneous shows or feeds | Create a separate stream for each broadcast and configure the encoder for each feed. | Your production workflow must be able to generate and send the distinct streams and settings. |
| Events at different times using a reusable feed | Reuse a stream with broadcasts scheduled for different times. | Stream reuse at different times is not the same as sending separate concurrent productions. |
Google for Developers documents the shared-stream pattern for an ongoing feed with a separate interview broadcast: both broadcasts can be live from the same stream, and the interview broadcast can end while the ongoing broadcast continues. This is useful when you want separate event pages, not when you need different content in each one.
Check YouTube’s limits and channel eligibility
YouTube Help currently states a limit of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These limits apply at the same time. Reaching either limit prevents another stream from starting. They are limits on active streams, not a promise that a channel can run any number of separate event videos without checking its stream usage.

- Count the incoming streams your schedule will have active at once.
- Check how many of those streams will use each stream key.
- Leave headroom if your schedule may overlap or a production may run late.
- Verify that live streaming is enabled for the channel and that it has no current live-stream restriction.
YouTube’s API error reference names concurrentBroadcastsExceedLimit and sharedIngestionBroadcastsExceedLimit for limit-related failures. If you see a concurrency error, review both channel-wide active streams and streams sharing the relevant ingestion source or key.
YouTube Help says first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Treat that as an estimate, not a guarantee of eligibility; check the channel’s current live settings well before the event.

Set up simultaneous broadcasts
- Decide whether the feeds are identical. If every event video should show the same incoming content, plan one shared stream. If shows need different feeds or settings, plan separate streams.
- Create or schedule one broadcast per event. Each broadcast is its own YouTube video, so create a distinct event for every event page you want viewers to use.
- Associate the broadcasts with the right stream or streams. Bind all broadcasts that should carry identical content to the shared stream. For separate productions, associate each broadcast with its corresponding distinct stream.
- Configure the encoder. Send the shared feed for a same-content setup, or configure the production to send each separate feed and its settings. Confirm that your encoder workflow can produce the number of simultaneous outputs you need.
- Review concurrency before going live. Check active streams per channel and per stream key against YouTube’s current limits.
- Start and transition each broadcast independently. Follow the workflow in YouTube Studio or the API and encoder setup you are using. In API terminology, broadcasts can pass through states such as testing and live; do not assume that a particular control or screen is available in every workflow.
Do you need another encoder or computer?
Not necessarily. YouTube supports webcam, mobile, console, and encoder workflows; an encoder may be software on a computer or standalone hardware. YouTube describes encoders as useful for sharing screens or gameplay, using external audio/video equipment, and more advanced production. But a second event alone does not mean you need another encoder: one incoming feed can serve multiple broadcast videos.
You may need a production workflow that can generate separate outputs when events need different feeds, scenes, settings, or production control. The YouTube documentation does not establish a universal computer specification, encoder model, or bandwidth figure for a particular number of simultaneous feeds. Those requirements depend on the equipment, settings, and production design.

Troubleshoot common problems
- A new stream will not start: Check whether the channel has reached its active-stream limit or the stream key has reached its limit. YouTube’s limits apply together: 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key.
- A concurrency error appears: Review active streams across the channel and streams using the shared ingestion source. The API error names may include
concurrentBroadcastsExceedLimitorsharedIngestionBroadcastsExceedLimit. - Two event videos show the same content: That is expected if both broadcasts are bound to the same incoming stream. To show different productions, use distinct streams and configure the encoder to send the appropriate feed to each.
- The second event is not live when expected: Check that its broadcast has been started or transitioned independently. A live shared stream does not mean every associated broadcast has automatically been put live.
- Live streaming is unavailable on the channel: Check the channel’s live settings and restrictions. If enabling live streaming for the first time, allow for YouTube’s stated estimate of up to 24 hours and verify status before event day.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a different use case—keeping a YouTube channel live with uploaded videos rather than producing simultaneous camera or event feeds—StreamNeo runs the playback from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and it does not create separate live productions for distinct simultaneous events.
- Any quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, as uploaded.
- Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card.
