To stream Marathi abhangs around the clock, send a rights-cleared audio or video playlist to YouTube Live through an encoder—or use a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. For a do-it-yourself setup, schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, enter its server URL and stream key in your encoder, verify the preview, and monitor the broadcast. Plan carefully: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable.

Check that the channel can livestream

Use recordings you have the right to stream
A traditional abhang does not automatically make a particular recording or arrangement free to use. Secure the necessary rights for the exact performance, recording, and arrangement you plan to broadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights: YouTube livestream terms.

Keep license or permission records. If a rights holder uses Content ID, ask whether your channel needs to be added to its allowlist; otherwise, a licensed track can still be detected during a live broadcast. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream when it detects material that violates its rules. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Choose how the broadcast will run
You can send the feed using encoder software on a computer or a dedicated hardware encoder. YouTube does not require a particular hardware product. It says expensive equipment is not necessary to get started and recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events. Choose based on your source format, budget, local recording needs, and who will respond if power, internet, or the encoder fails.
Set up a do-it-yourself encoder stream
- Prepare the playlist. Gather only abhang recordings and visuals you are authorized to use. Arrange the playback order and check that files play through cleanly, including at the point where the playlist loops. Keep your rights documentation accessible.
- Create the stream in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live, and choose the encoder workflow to create or schedule a stream. In Live Control Room, copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Exact labels can vary as YouTube updates Studio; follow the encoder setup shown in the current Live Control Room. YouTube explains encoder setup and stream keys in its live encoder help.
- Configure your encoder. Paste the server URL and stream key into the encoder’s YouTube or custom RTMP destination fields, then select the media source and output settings supported by your encoder and connection. YouTube publishes supported protocols, codecs, frame rates, bitrates, and audio settings in its encoder settings guidance. Match settings to the source and available upload capacity rather than choosing a bitrate without regard to resolution, frame rate, codec, or network.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not publish it, share it with viewers, or expose it in a recording or screenshot. Anyone with the key may be able to send video to that stream.
- Test before going public. Start the encoder and confirm that its feed appears in the Live Control Room preview. Check stream health, picture, and audio; listen for clipping, silence, or abrupt transitions. YouTube recommends testing the setup and monitoring the live audio and video: YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
- Start the broadcast and keep watching its status. Once the preview and stream health look right, start the stream in Live Control Room if required by the encoder workflow. Keep an operator available to check for dropped connection, playback failure, or copyright notices.
- Make and verify a local recording. Record a separate local copy if you need an archive. Confirm that the file is actually growing and that the recording drive has space; YouTube recommends a local archive backup for long streams.
Plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive and DVR limits
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a saved replay, do not rely on one uninterrupted 24-hour session. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup: YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

DVR lets viewers pause and rewind a live stream, but YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours: YouTube’s DVR guidance. Tell viewers what replay and rewind experience to expect rather than promising either for a continuous broadcast.
If archive availability matters, one possible operational approach is to continue the broadcast through shorter sessions and test the transition, audience notifications, and viewing experience in advance. This is a planning response to YouTube’s stated limits, not a guarantee that splitting sessions will produce a particular archive or uninterrupted viewer experience.

Keep the stream stable
Leave network headroom
YouTube recommends reserving 20% of available upload bandwidth as headroom. Its guidance also cautions that connection interruptions can break a stream. Check upload capacity under realistic conditions, avoid saturating the connection with other activity, and monitor stream health while live: YouTube’s encoder settings and live-streaming tips.
Monitor both the feed and the archive
- Watch the Live Control Room stream-health indicator and preview, and periodically check that video and audio continue as intended.
- Check that the local recording file is growing and that the recording destination has free space.
- Have a person responsible for responding to connection failures, encoder stops, playlist errors, and YouTube notices; a 24/7 schedule still needs an operational recovery plan.
- Test stream transitions in advance if the schedule uses multiple sessions.
Troubleshooting common failures
The encoder feed does not appear in Live Control Room
Confirm that the encoder is sending to the server URL for the correct scheduled stream and that the matching stream key was copied accurately. Keep the key private; if you think it has been exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.

The stream disconnects or its health degrades
Check the network connection and whether other devices or transfers are using upload bandwidth. Restore the connection, leave the recommended upload headroom, and verify that the encoder is sending again before treating the broadcast as recovered. YouTube cautions that connection disruption can break a stream.

Check the encoder’s selected source, output format, and audio input, then compare its output settings with YouTube’s published encoder guidance. Confirm the issue in the Live Control Room preview and listen to the feed rather than relying only on the encoder’s local meters.

The stream stops after a copyright issue
Check YouTube Studio for copyright notices or strikes. YouTube Help specifically advises: “If your live stream stops, check your YouTube Studio dashboard for strikes.” Confirm that you have rights for the exact recording and arrangement, and ask a licensing rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where applicable: YouTube copyright help for live streams.
