YouTube’s playlist Loop button repeats videos for a viewer; it does not create a livestream. To broadcast bhajans continuously as YouTube Live, you need to send a video-and-audio feed to YouTube using an encoder—or use a cloud service that plays uploaded videos to your channel. Before you begin, confirm that your channel can livestream and that you have the necessary rights to every recording and composition you plan to use.
What you need for a continuous bhajan livestream
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled.
- Bhajan recordings and visuals you are permitted to use in a live broadcast and, if you keep an archive, in that archive too.
- A way to send the feed to YouTube Live: encoder software on a computer, standalone encoder hardware, or a cloud service.
- A stable internet connection with enough upload capacity for your chosen stream bitrate, plus a way to monitor the broadcast.
YouTube describes both software encoders and standalone hardware encoders as options. A computer running encoder software can be enough to start; dedicated or expensive equipment is not a prerequisite. The right option depends on the intended feed, how long it must run, available connections, and whether you can monitor it throughout. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the available workflows.

1. Check that your channel can go live
YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions within the previous 90 days. If this is your first time enabling livestreaming, activation can take up to 24 hours, so check access well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility instructions.

2. Clear rights to the bhajans and visuals
Devotional, traditional, or widely circulated music is not automatically free to use. A particular recording can have rights separate from the underlying composition, and a permission that covers personal listening or an in-person performance may not cover a YouTube livestream or its archived replay.

YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights. Its terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” This is YouTube’s contractual language, not legal advice about any particular song or territory. YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. A match can cause a placeholder image to replace the stream, and continued use can lead to interruption or termination. If you have licensed third-party material, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; having a licence alone may not prevent an automated interruption. Keep written evidence of permissions and check that they cover the exact recording, composition, live use, archive, and relevant territory. 3. Assemble the playlist and visual feed
Prepare the bhajan recordings and the visual material that will accompany them, then arrange the sequence you want viewers to hear. The encoder or cloud workflow must send this material as a live feed; simply creating a YouTube playlist and selecting Loop in its player will not broadcast it. Confirm that all included audio and visuals are cleared for the intended use before going live.

- Open YouTube Studio and set up a live stream. Follow the encoder workflow in YouTube’s setup guide. Use the stream connection details shown for your event in YouTube Studio.
- Configure your encoder. Choose the prepared audio-and-visual feed and enter the connection details for the YouTube event. The exact controls vary by encoder; use its current instructions rather than assuming every encoder has identical labels or settings.
- Check upload capacity. YouTube recommends that total stream bitrate stay below available upload bandwidth, with 20% headroom. For example, if the stream uses 5 Mbps, leave at least 1 Mbps of the available upload capacity unused. Other devices and network traffic can affect the bandwidth available during the broadcast.
- Start the encoder feed and inspect the Live Control Room preview. Check that the picture appears and the bhajan audio is audible and in sync before starting or announcing the event.
- Test and monitor. YouTube advises testing the stream, checking the preview, and monitoring audio, video, and network quality. Keep watching for connection or playback problems during the event.
YouTube’s live-streaming tips cover upload headroom, testing, previewing, and monitoring. Do not assume a test on a different network or at a different time proves the broadcast connection will remain adequate for the full event.

5. Plan for long broadcasts and viewer rewind
A continuous stream from a computer-based encoder depends on that computer, encoder, and internet connection continuing to send the feed. YouTube does not establish that a creator’s ordinary playlist will automatically loop into a live feed; the encoder or other streaming workflow must provide it.
Keeping the broadcast live and letting viewers rewind are separate matters. YouTube warns that DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable for livestreams longer than 12 hours. Do not promise viewers they can rewind through the entire broadcast. See YouTube’s DVR guidance for live streams.

Common problems and what to check
- The playlist repeats on your device, but there is no live broadcast. The YouTube Loop button is viewer playback, not a broadcast control. Set up a live event and send a feed through an encoder or cloud workflow.
- Livestreaming is unavailable in YouTube Studio. Verify the channel and check for live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- The live preview is blank or has no sound. Check that the encoder is sending the intended feed to the event and that its audio and video sources are active; inspect the preview before proceeding.
- The stream buffers or loses quality. Compare the total stream bitrate with the upload bandwidth available during the broadcast. Follow YouTube’s recommendation to leave 20% headroom, and check for competing network traffic.
- The stream is replaced or interrupted over music rights. YouTube may detect third-party material even when you believe it is licensed. Confirm the rights for live and archived use and, for licensed third-party content, ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting.
- Viewers cannot rewind to the beginning of a very long event. DVR can be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours; full rewind is not assured for a continuous broadcast.
