To loop an authorized Bengali devotional video on YouTube Live, create a stream in YouTube Live Control Room, copy its server URL and private stream key, then send the file to YouTube with FFmpeg using RTMPS. The example below loops one file; a computer running FFmpeg and a reliable internet connection must remain on for the broadcast.
Before you begin
Check that your channel is eligible to stream before configuring FFmpeg. YouTube’s current guidance requires live streaming to be enabled, channel verification, and no live-stream restriction during the preceding 90 days; it also says streamers must be at least 16. - A YouTube channel that meets those requirements.
- A video file you are authorized to broadcast, with its audio and artwork rights cleared as applicable.
- FFmpeg installed on a computer that can stay powered on and connected for the entire stream.
- A stable upload connection with enough capacity for the chosen bitrate.
A live encoder does not change the rights status of a recording. Public availability, devotional subject matter, or crediting the source does not by itself grant permission. Confirm that you have permission for the video, music or performance, and visual materials, and review YouTube’s current rules for continuous or repetitive prerecorded streams. Whether a particular format meets platform policy or monetization requirements depends on the applicable rules and the channel’s circumstances.

- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream.
- Choose the stream’s settings in YouTube, then locate the encoder setup details.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains where to find them.
- Keep the key private. Treat it like a password: do not publish it, paste it into a public script or screenshot, or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your stream.
You will combine the server URL and key in FFmpeg’s output address. Use the exact ingest details YouTube displays for your stream rather than guessing or reusing an old address.

Loop one video with FFmpeg
For a single-file loop, adapt this schematic command. Replace input.mp4 with the path to your file, and replace the final URL with the server URL and stream key supplied by YouTube. Do not publish a real key in a script or screenshot.

FFmpeg documents -stream_loop -1 for infinite looping and -re for reading input at its native frame rate so output is sent in real time; check the FFmpeg documentation and your installed build. The example encodes H.264 video and AAC audio, sets 30 fps, and uses a 60-frame GOP—two seconds at 30 fps. Confirm that your file, FFmpeg build, current YouTube settings, and connection support the choices before relying on them.

YouTube recommends RTMPS for encoder ingest. RTMPS is RTMP video transported through an SSL connection, as described in Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance recommends H.264 for RTMP/RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. The command uses a two-second GOP, but FFmpeg option behavior can vary with the input and build, so verify the resulting stream in Live Control Room.

Choose a resolution and bitrate
The sample uses a video bitrate of 4 Mbps, which falls within YouTube’s stated 2–6 Mbps range for 720p at 30 fps. That range is specific to that resolution and frame rate; consult YouTube’s current settings table for other targets. A bitrate alone cannot guarantee a particular visual quality: choose a setting your upload connection can sustain reliably.

Before streaming, use a speed test and leave capacity for normal network variation and other household or office traffic. The encoder guide recommends testing with representative audio and movement, then watching Live Control Room’s stream health and messages during the broadcast. Still images, changing scenes, and music can expose issues a short static test may miss.

- Run the command in a terminal or command prompt. If FFmpeg reports that an option, codec, or protocol is unavailable, check the installed build and its supported options.
- Wait for YouTube Live Control Room to detect the incoming encoder feed. Review stream health and any warnings before making the stream public or starting the scheduled event.
- Check the preview with both motion and audio. Listen for clipping, silence, sync problems, or abrupt transitions at the loop point.
- Keep the computer, FFmpeg process, and network connection running. The command loops the input file, but it does not protect against a power failure, computer sleep, process crash, or lost connection.
- To end the broadcast, stop FFmpeg with
qwhen available in its running terminal, or interrupt the process. YouTube’s encoder instructions say to stop sending content to end the stream; confirm the event has ended in Live Control Room.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That archive note is not a guarantee that one continuous broadcast can run indefinitely. For a stream intended to stay live around the clock, plan for interruptions and check YouTube’s current stream and archive guidance.

Common problems and fixes
- YouTube does not detect the encoder: confirm the correct stream is open in Live Control Room, then recheck the exact server URL and key. If the key may have been exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube before broadcasting again.
- FFmpeg rejects the output URL or protocol: verify that the URL is YouTube’s current ingest address and that the installed FFmpeg build supports the selected output. Do not infer a server URL from an example.
- Video stutters or stream health warns of instability: check available upload bandwidth, competing network traffic, and whether the selected bitrate is sustainable. Reduce the target bitrate or resolution to a setting the connection can reliably carry, using YouTube’s current table.
- Video plays but audio is missing or unsuitable: confirm the input contains an audio stream and inspect the Live Control Room preview. If the file uses an unsupported input codec, choose a compatible FFmpeg build or adjust the audio encoding options for the source.
- The loop does not restart cleanly: inspect the source file and test the transition between its end and beginning. A loop can repeat indefinitely while still producing an audible or visible discontinuity.
- The broadcast stops unexpectedly: check whether the computer slept, lost power or internet, or whether FFmpeg exited with an error. This local setup depends on the host computer and connection remaining available.
