To stream several pre-recorded videos on YouTube Live in a specific order, use an encoder or streaming service that can play a sequential playlist, then send its output to a YouTube Live event. YouTube Studio handles the live event and its stream connection; the playback tool controls the video queue. YouTube’s published encoder guidance does not document a built-in YouTube Live queue for ordering multiple pre-recorded videos.
What you need to make an ordered YouTube Live playlist
You need a YouTube Live event and a playback encoder that can load multiple files, keep them in your chosen sequence, and transmit their output to that event. A YouTube channel playlist is for viewers to watch uploaded videos; it is not the same as an encoder’s live playback queue.

YouTube’s encoder instructions describe creating or scheduling a stream in Live Control Room and entering its stream URL and key into an encoder. The encoder converts the video feed into a format YouTube can receive. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesChoose a playback method that supports the sequence
Decide first how the files will be played. A local software or hardware encoder gives you direct control but requires you to operate the playback setup. A cloud service can host playback without relying on a computer at home. In either case, confirm the exact playlist behavior with the provider and test it; a general claim of “pre-recorded streaming” does not establish that a tool supports a fixed multi-video sequence.

- Confirm you can add multiple files and arrange them in a specific order.
- Check what happens at the end of each file, including transitions, gaps, and audio continuity.
- Verify how the tool handles a missing, unreadable, or unfinished file and what happens after the last item.
- Check whether playback and the event can be scheduled, and what monitoring or recovery controls are available.
- Verify current feature availability and terms with the provider; YouTube’s documentation does not establish vendor pricing or plan limits.
YouTube’s encoder help currently names Gyre as a cloud tool for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streaming and describes AJA PlayToStream for scheduling prerecorded media. Those mentions are not confirmation that a particular current version, plan, region, or setup provides the precise ordered-queue controls you need. Check directly with the vendor. Check channel eligibility and create the live event
- Confirm that your channel is verified and has had no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. These are YouTube’s stated eligibility requirements; see Get started with live streaming.
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule one. Set the title, privacy, and other event details. YouTube’s stream settings include public, private, and unlisted privacy choices; consult Manage live stream settings.
- Copy the event’s stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s YouTube or RTMP settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not be able to broadcast to your event.
- Use RTMPS when your encoder supports it. YouTube documents RTMP/RTMPS encoder settings and recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingestion. Check YouTube’s encoder settings guidance.
Load the videos and verify their order
In the encoder or service, add the files in the intended sequence and inspect the queue from first item to last. The exact controls are specific to that product; YouTube Studio’s ordinary channel playlist controls do not set an encoder’s live playback order.

- Confirm each file is fully available to the playback tool and that the opening and closing moments are as intended.
- Listen for differences in loudness, silence, or abrupt audio changes between files.
- Check the transition behavior, including whether a brief gap, black frame, or slate appears.
- Decide whether playback should stop after the final video or repeat, if the tool offers looping.
Rehearse, start, and monitor the stream
- Run a private or unlisted rehearsal if appropriate for your event. Start the encoder and check that the feed appears in Live Control Room preview.
- Play representative parts of the videos and confirm picture, sound, sequence, and viewer access. YouTube recommends testing before the event, checking the preview, and monitoring stream health. See Streaming tips and its encoder settings and stream-health guidance.
- For a scheduled encoder stream, start the encoder and wait for the preview to appear; then select Go live in Live Control Room. Scheduling the event alone does not start the encoder feed. Follow YouTube’s encoder workflow.
- While live, monitor audio, video, and stream-health messages. If the preview or feed is not right, pause the launch and correct the encoder or playlist rather than assuming the queue will fix itself.
- When finished, end the stream using YouTube’s instructions and check the recording in Studio. YouTube’s cited encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; if your planned stream exceeds that duration, confirm current behavior in YouTube’s guidance.
