To stream a Malayalam song playlist continuously on YouTube Live, send a looping video-and-audio feed to YouTube through an encoder, using a stream created in YouTube Studio. First clear the rights for every recording and composition; then enable live access, configure and test playlist playback, and monitor the stream. YouTube provides the live-stream connection workflow, but it does not provide a playlist-looping player or guarantee unattended playback.
Before you start: clear the music rights
Confirm that you have permission for the intended livestream use of every recording and composition in the playlist, in every territory where you plan to broadcast. Rights may involve artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions place responsibility for the necessary rights on the person providing the live content.

A license alone may not prevent a live interruption. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content and says licensed content can still be interrupted if the rights owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A personal subscription to a music service, or the fact that a song is available to listen to online, should not be treated as permission to rebroadcast it. If you cannot confirm the necessary rights and any applicable allowlisting, do not include that track.

Check that your YouTube channel can go live
- Verify your YouTube channel if it is not already verified.
- Check that the channel has no live-streaming restrictions from the previous 90 days.
- If this is your first time enabling live streaming, allow up to 24 hours for activation before your planned broadcast.
These are YouTube’s stated eligibility and activation requirements in its live-streaming setup guidance and encoder setup and enablement instructions.
How to set up a continuous Malayalam playlist stream
- Choose an encoder and playback method. Use an encoder that can send a video-and-audio feed to YouTube, and a player or workflow that can play your playlist in order and repeat it. A static or looping image can provide the visual feed, but the feed still needs video as well as audio. YouTube’s setup instructions do not specify a particular playlist player, looping method, or automatic playback-recovery feature, so verify those capabilities with your chosen software.
- Create an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow. Follow the current on-screen prompts for the selected event.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your channel. Do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream. YouTube documents this workflow in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Configure the playlist feed. Set the player to play the Malayalam tracks in your intended order and repeat them. Make sure the encoder receives both audio and video. Decide how the player and encoder will behave if playback or the connection stops; that behavior depends on the software and setup, not on YouTube’s stream-creation workflow.
- Run a private or unlisted test. Use a test playlist with similar audio and motion to the planned broadcast. Check track order, transitions, continuous sound, the visual feed, encoder reconnection behavior and the Live Control Room preview. Look for stream-health warnings before making the event public.
- Start and monitor the event. Start the encoder and wait for the feed to appear in the Live Control Room preview. Start the event there if the chosen workflow requires it. Monitor audio, video and stream health during the broadcast. When finished, end the stream in YouTube and stop the encoder.
YouTube recommends testing under conditions similar to the actual broadcast, checking upload bandwidth and monitoring the feed. Its guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume that this makes an unattended stream reliable or that longer streams will be archived. Encoder settings for music playback
Choose settings your actual upload connection can sustain, and test them before the public broadcast. YouTube’s recommendations are platform guidance, not a guarantee that a particular player or encoder will loop reliably.

- Protocol: YouTube lists RTMP/RTMPS as options in its encoder settings guidance. Use the protocol supported by your encoder and the stream configuration.
- Audio: For RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube lists AAC or MP3. Its recommended stereo audio settings include a 44.1 kHz sample rate and a 128 Kbps audio bitrate.
- Video quality: Select a resolution and bitrate that your encoder and sustained upload bandwidth can maintain. Leave bandwidth headroom rather than planning around your connection’s best-case speed.
- Latency: For a music stream with little interaction, low latency may be less important than stable, uninterrupted playback. YouTube notes that lower latency can result in more buffering.
Use YouTube’s current bitrate, resolution and encoder settings recommendations for the exact video format you choose, and confirm the result in the Live Control Room. The reviewed YouTube guidance does not specify a Malayalam-specific technical setting.

What “continuous” playback depends on
YouTube transports the live feed; the encoder and playback setup determine whether the playlist loops and whether it resumes after a playback or connection failure. Before relying on a long-running broadcast, verify these parts together:
- The playlist repeats at the end without a gap or accidental stop.
- The audio remains audible and the video feed remains present between tracks.
- The player and encoder recover as expected after a temporary connection interruption.
- The upload connection has enough sustained capacity for the selected settings.
- Someone can check stream health and respond if the feed or rights status changes.
- The channel and the music are ready for the intended broadcast, including any required Content ID allowlisting.
YouTube’s official documentation covers connecting an encoder, stream settings and live monitoring; it does not name a Malayalam playlist player or establish that a particular encoder will provide unattended looping and recovery. Check the current verified encoder directory for encoder options, then confirm playlist-looping behavior with the software provider.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The encoder will not connect: Check that you copied the stream URL and key for the correct YouTube event, that the key has not been changed, and that the encoder is configured for a protocol it supports. Keep the key private.
- The preview is missing or shows the wrong content: Confirm the encoder is sending a video feed as well as audio, and verify the selected playlist and visual source in the encoder or player.
- Audio drops between songs: Check the player’s playlist transition and repeat settings. Test the whole sequence before going live; YouTube’s connection workflow does not configure those playback behaviors.
- The stream buffers or loses quality: Check stream health and sustained upload bandwidth. Reduce the selected video settings if the connection cannot support them reliably, and test again with bandwidth headroom.
- The stream is interrupted for copyrighted content: Review the live copyright notice and contact the relevant rights owner about channel allowlisting. Having a license does not necessarily prevent interruption if the channel is not allowlisted.
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification, any live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days, and whether first-time activation has completed. YouTube says initial enablement can take up to 24 hours.
