How to Stream a 4K 60fps Malayalam Nature Video Loop on YouTube Live

A practical guide to looping a prepared Malayalam nature video on YouTube Live at 4K60, from encoder and network settings to testing and cloud options.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To stream a Malayalam nature video loop in 4K at 60 frames per second, send a prepared video feed to YouTube Live through an encoder, set the output to 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps, configure the codec, bitrate, CBR and keyframes, then preview and monitor the stream. YouTube’s current live-encoder recommendations for 4K60 are 35 Mbps for AV1 or H.265/HEVC and 50 Mbps for H.264. These are ingest recommendations—not a guarantee that your computer or internet connection can sustain them.

Recommended 4K60 settings for YouTube Live

The figures below are YouTube’s live-encoder recommendations, not its separate video-upload recommendations. Choose a codec your encoder can produce reliably; a lower recommended bitrate does not help if your hardware cannot encode that codec smoothly.

Setting Recommended configuration
Resolution and frame rate 3840 × 2160 (2160p), 60 fps
Video codec and bitrate AV1 or H.265/HEVC: 10 Mbps minimum, 35 Mbps recommended; H.264: 14 Mbps minimum, 50 Mbps recommended
Rate control Constant bitrate (CBR)
Keyframe interval 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds
Protocol RTMPS is recommended by YouTube as the encrypted version of RTMP
SDR video Progressive scan, square pixels, Rec. 709, 8-bit
Stereo audio AAC or MP3, 44.1 kHz, 128 kbps

Use the current YouTube live encoder settings as the reference when configuring your encoder. For this guide, the straightforward target is SDR. HDR has additional compatibility and color-configuration requirements: YouTube recommends H.265 for HDR and does not support AV1 for HDR in its general settings table. Do not select HDR unless the source and the entire encoder chain are configured for it.

Before you set up the loop

Check the video and your rights

  • Confirm the file is actually 3840 × 2160 and 60 fps. A 4K label does not establish its frame rate, and sending a lower-resolution or lower-frame-rate file at 4K60 requires scaling or frame-rate conversion.
  • Make sure you have the rights needed to broadcast both the nature footage and every sound in it, including music and ambient recordings. A scenic video is not automatically free to use. Check YouTube’s copyright safety checklist before you go live.
  • Decide whether the audio should repeat with the video. Listen to the transition between the end and beginning of the loop; abrupt cuts, silence, or a sudden volume change can be distracting during a long broadcast.

Confirm channel eligibility and timing

YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and meet the minimum age of 16. Enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and allow time for activation rather than relying on a last-minute setup.

Set up the encoder and YouTube stream

  1. Choose an encoder that can handle 4K60. YouTube lists OBS as open-source streaming software. YouTube also lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for continuous streaming of prerecorded video and describes its listing as supporting 4K at 30/60 FPS. Those listings identify options, not guarantees of current performance or service terms. Check the encoder’s own current documentation for the controls to add and repeat a media source; the exact menus vary by software and version.
  2. Create or prepare the YouTube encoder stream. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, set up the stream for encoder delivery and obtain the stream URL and stream key. YouTube describes the key as the credential that tells the encoder where to send its feed and lets YouTube accept it. Treat it like a password: do not show it in screenshots or share it.
  3. Enter the destination and key in your encoder. Use YouTube’s provided ingest details and select RTMPS if it is available in your encoder. Keep the key private; if you believe it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder before broadcasting again.
  4. Set the video output. Choose 3840 × 2160 and 60 fps. Select H.264, H.265/HEVC or AV1 according to your encoder’s support and the hardware available, then enter the corresponding recommended bitrate from the table. Set CBR and a 2-second keyframe interval.
  5. Set SDR picture and audio deliberately. For a standard SDR stream, use progressive scan, square pixels, Rec. 709 and 8-bit depth. Set stereo audio to AAC or MP3 at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps, as applicable in your encoder. Match the source to the intended output where possible so scaling or frame-rate conversion is not an accidental surprise.
  6. Add the video as a repeating source or playlist. Use your encoder’s media-loop or playlist feature to repeat the prepared clip. Test the transition at the loop point and verify that the image and audio remain in sync. Since encoder interfaces change, follow the instructions for the specific software version you use instead of relying on a generic menu path.
  7. Preview and test before a public broadcast. Check the Live Control Room preview and run an unlisted or otherwise suitable test. View it on a target device if practical, and verify picture, audio, loop transition and stream health before sharing a public event. YouTube advises arranging the encoder stream ahead of time, beginning setup at least two hours before an event, and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before its scheduled start.
  8. Go live and keep watching the feed. Monitor YouTube’s stream-health messages and the encoder for dropped frames, encoder overload, unstable upload, or audio faults. YouTube recommends continuous monitoring of audio and video quality during a broadcast.

YouTube’s setup guidance also provides controls for latency, DVR and auto-start/auto-stop. Choose those based on how viewers will watch and how you intend to start and end the event; they do not replace testing the stream itself. See YouTube’s stream-key and encoder setup guidance for the current Live Control Room workflow.

Plan enough upload bandwidth

Check sustained upload speed, not download speed. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload-bandwidth headroom and says your stream bitrate cannot exceed available upload bandwidth. Other devices and people using the same connection also consume capacity, and a speed-test result is only a snapshot—not proof of stable throughput for a continuous broadcast.

For example, a 50 Mbps H.264 video stream needs more than 50 Mbps of usable upstream capacity once audio, protocol overhead, other household or office use, and YouTube’s headroom recommendation are considered. Do not treat that arithmetic as a separate YouTube bandwidth guarantee. If available, a wired Ethernet connection can reduce dependence on Wi-Fi, but it cannot increase the upload capacity your ISP provides. You can estimate transfer time with StreamNeo’s upload-time calculator before moving a large source file.

Local encoder or cloud playout?

A local encoder such as OBS gives you direct control over the computer and the feed, but the computer, encoder and internet connection must remain available throughout the broadcast. A cloud-based prerecorded-streaming service can avoid keeping a dedicated local computer running. Compare the exact service’s supported codecs and output settings, loop controls, operating terms and handling of your stream key; YouTube’s listing of a service does not independently establish its current terms or performance.

Troubleshooting a 4K60 loop

Symptom Likely cause What to check
Stream will not connect Incorrect stream URL or key, an encoder configuration mismatch, or live streaming not yet enabled Recheck the ingest details in YouTube Studio, confirm the encoder is using the intended protocol, and check channel eligibility and activation time.
Dropped frames or unstable stream health Insufficient or fluctuating upload capacity, competing network use, or an overloaded encoder Check sustained upload speed and stream-health messages; reduce competing traffic and confirm the encoder can sustain the chosen codec and bitrate.
Encoder overload or choppy picture The computer or hardware encoder cannot encode the selected codec, resolution and frame rate reliably Check encoder load and hardware support. Test a codec the encoder handles reliably before the event; do not assume the lower bitrate option alone solves encoding overload.
Picture is not truly 4K60 The source file is lower resolution or frame rate, or output settings are mismatched Check the source file’s actual properties and the encoder output settings; verify the result in the Live Control Room preview.
Loop has a jump, gap or audio pop The source endpoints do not join cleanly, or the encoder’s looping behavior differs from expectation Test repeated playback before going live; adjust or edit the source transition and check audio continuity.
Audio is silent, distorted or out of sync Wrong audio source, unsupported format or sample rate, or source timing issue Confirm the intended audio track is enabled and check the encoder’s audio settings against YouTube’s stereo recommendations; monitor the preview.
Stream key appears exposed The credential was shown, copied into a public place or shared Replace the key in YouTube Studio, update the encoder with the new key and keep it out of screenshots and public notes.

Keep the YouTube rules in view

Technical delivery does not establish that you have permission to use the video or audio, nor does a successful encoder preview guarantee that a stream complies with YouTube’s policies. Use material you are entitled to broadcast, and review YouTube’s current copyright and live-stream rules before starting. YouTube automatically transcodes live streams into multiple output formats for viewers, but that does not change the quality of the source you provide or remove the need to configure a stable ingest stream.
