You can send a repeating aarti playlist from a Windows PC to YouTube with FFmpeg’s concat demuxer and a live stream key. The setup depends on compatible media files, encoder settings that match YouTube’s current guidance, and a PC and internet connection able to keep the stream running. The command-line options can vary by FFmpeg build, so test a short playlist before relying on it for a continuous broadcast.
What you need before you start
- A Windows computer that can stay on, awake, and connected to the internet for the duration of the stream. No minimum hardware specification is established here; test your actual files and settings on your computer.
- FFmpeg installed and available in Command Prompt or PowerShell. Check the installed build with
ffmpeg -versionand inspect its options withffmpeg -h full. Upstream FFmpeg documentation may differ from your local build. - A folder of aarti audio or video files, with rights to stream each recording and any associated visual material.
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled, a live event, and its ingest URL and stream key.
- Upload capacity sufficient for the video and audio bitrate you select, with room for normal network variation.
The steps below use YouTube as the destination. Its encoder settings and interface can change, so check the current YouTube encoder settings before going live.

Prepare a compatible playlist
Organize the media files
Put the files in a stable local folder, for example C:AartiStream. Avoid moving or renaming them after creating the playlist. The concat demuxer reads entries in order and joins them sequentially; it is most suitable when the files have compatible streams, codecs, and time bases. Differences in stream properties or inaccurate duration information can produce gaps or artifacts. See the FFmpeg FAQ and FFmpeg full documentation.

That approach can consume more CPU and requires choosing consistent output settings, but offers more control over processing. The demuxer can avoid re-encoding when inputs are compatible. Neither method guarantees seamless transitions for arbitrary files; test the actual playlist.

Create the concat list
Open Notepad and make a plain-text file called playlist.txt in the same folder as your media. Add one file directive for each item, in the order you want it to play. For example:

file 'C:/AartiStream/aarti-3.mp4'Forward slashes in these quoted Windows paths avoid backslash-escaping confusion. Keep each path inside single quotes, use the actual filenames, and save the file as plain text rather than a rich-text document. If a filename itself contains a single quote, use a path that does not contain one or consult the concat demuxer’s quoting rules in the FFmpeg documentation. This example is a playlist format, not a tested Windows command.
Create the YouTube live event and protect the key
- Enable live streaming for your channel and create or schedule a live event in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- In the event’s stream settings, copy the ingest URL and stream key. YouTube explains that you create a key in YouTube and enter it into your encoder in its live stream settings guidance; its encoder setup instructions cover connecting an encoder.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not publish it in a script, repository, screenshot, or support post. Use a placeholder when sharing a command, replace it locally, and reset the key if it is exposed.
YouTube’s interface labels may change. Confirm the selected event’s current ingest URL and key rather than reusing values from an old tutorial.

Choose output settings for your files and connection
Use the current YouTube table for the resolution and frame rate you intend to send; do not copy a bitrate from a different resolution or frame rate. The table includes RTMP/RTMPS, H.264, H.265, and AV1, supports up to 60 fps, and lists AAC or MP3 audio. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encryption, CBR video, a two-second keyframe interval (not exceeding four seconds), and 128 kbps stereo audio. Its H.264 recommended video bitrate ranges from 3 Mbps at 480p30 to 17 Mbps at 1080p60, with separate minimum and recommended values by codec, resolution, and frame rate. Consult the specific row in the official encoder settings table for the configuration you choose.
These are YouTube recommendations, not a guarantee that your computer or connection can sustain the stream. Match resolution and frame rate to your media, choose a bitrate your upload connection can support, and test under realistic conditions. For an audio-led stream with a still image or restrained visual loop, there is no universal resolution or frame rate: choose based on the actual assets and audience. Verify that the output includes the intended audio track.
FFmpeg’s options are scoped to inputs and outputs, and exact loop syntax depends on the installed build. Check ffmpeg -h full and the local version’s help for input looping, then place the applicable loop option before the playlist’s -i. A live destination also needs an output configuration that matches its ingest protocol and chosen video/audio settings. Because no complete Windows command was executed or validated for this workflow, do not treat a copied one-line command as guaranteed to work for every playlist or FFmpeg build.

When sending files to a live destination, the process must be paced for real-time streaming rather than reading the playlist as fast as the disk allows. Confirm the relevant real-time and looping behavior in the FFmpeg CLI documentation and test a short run with your installed build before starting a public stream.
Run a short test before the 24-hour stream
- Start with a short playlist containing representative audio and motion from your intended stream.
- Connect FFmpeg to the event using your ingest URL and locally stored key. Keep the key private.
- Use a private or unlisted test where available. Check YouTube’s preview, audio, video, and stream-health messages.
- Watch the stream on a separate viewer device and listen for silence, distortion, unexpected gaps, or transitions that do not match the local files.
- Adjust the media, output settings, or connection if the preview or health information indicates a problem, then repeat the test.
YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the planned broadcast, reviewing stream health, and monitoring audio and video. Its live-streaming tips and encoder guidance describe these checks.

Keep the Windows process supervised
A continuous FFmpeg process depends on the PC staying powered, awake, online, and able to reach the destination. A network interruption, application exit, system restart, or YouTube-side disconnect can stop the stream. FFmpeg looping does not by itself establish automatic recovery from every process or network failure. A watchdog or restart arrangement would need to be separately designed and tested; for an unattended broadcast, decide who will monitor it and how a stopped stream will be restarted.

Do not assume a 24-hour stream will archive in full
YouTube’s encoder setup help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish full automatic archiving for one continuous 24-hour stream. If you need a complete archive, check YouTube’s current rules and plan a separate local recording or shorter scheduled events, accounting for available storage and rights.
Clear each recording and visual
A devotional subject does not automatically make a recording rights-free. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other rights participants. A traditional composition and a modern performance or recording can have different rights status; verify the exact recording, visual material, and relevant territories before streaming.
