The setup does not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation: the computer, network, OBS, YouTube, and music rights all matter. YouTube documents automatic archiving only for streams under 12 hours, so do not assume one continuous day-long stream will be saved in full.
Before you set up a 24/7 Tamil lofi stream
- Confirm YouTube Live access. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of your planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions.
- Secure music rights. You need permission to stream the music and, if you want replays, archive it. A track described as royalty-free is not by that label alone guaranteed to avoid interruptions or claims.
- Plan for a computer and stable upload. OBS runs on your computer and sends the encoded stream over your internet connection. Basic system compatibility is not proof of sustained streaming ability: OBS Project states, “Having a compatible system does not guarantee that it is capable of streaming or recording using OBS Studio.” Its system requirements page is dated 2021-08-25: OBS system requirements.
How to stream 24/7 Tamil lofi beats on YouTube with OBS
1. Install OBS and run its setup wizard
Install OBS Studio from the official OBS Quick Start Guide, then use the Auto-Configuration Wizard. It considers what you want to do, your computer resources, and network conditions to suggest a starting configuration. It cannot certify that your particular system will remain stable indefinitely.

2. Build a scene with music and visuals
Create a scene and add an image or video source for the visual, plus a media or audio source for the music. A static or gently moving visual is often sufficient for a lofi stream, but test the actual scene you intend to run. Watch the Audio Mixer meters while playing the music: they should move when the intended track is audible. Check that the visual source stays present and that the music is not clipped, muted, or unexpectedly interrupted.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsOBS scenes combine sources such as images, video, and media; see the OBS Studio overview. How a media source repeats depends on the source and playlist arrangement you configure. Test the transition between tracks and confirm that playback continues before going live.

3. Create or select a YouTube stream and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live and open Live Control Room. Create a stream or select an existing one.
- Copy the stream URL/server and stream key shown by YouTube. Treat the key as private account access information; do not publish or share it.
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Choose YouTube if it is available in the service list, then connect your account or paste the key as prompted. If using a custom server option, enter YouTube’s supplied server URL and stream key.
- Apply the settings. In OBS, select Start Streaming, then confirm the incoming feed and stream health in YouTube Live Control Room before making the broadcast public or scheduling it.
YouTube’s encoder instructions explain the Live Control Room flow. Interface labels may shift, but the essential connection is YouTube’s stream URL and key entered in OBS.
4. Choose output settings for your upload and computer
Start with a speed test and select an output your sustained upload connection can support, leaving room for normal network variation. YouTube’s current encoder guidance specifies CBR, recommends a 2-second keyframe interval (not over 4 seconds), AAC or MP3 audio, and RTMPS as the encrypted ingest option. Match the resolution and frame rate to the source and your machine rather than selecting the highest available setting automatically. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

| Output example | YouTube-recommended H.264 video bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 480p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps |
These are YouTube recommendations, not measurements of your connection or guarantees of a clean stream. Its guidance varies with codec, resolution, and frame rate; consult the full table for the exact format you choose. Audio bitrate is separate from the video figures above. For a mostly static music broadcast, 30 fps is a sensible setting to test, not a special requirement for Tamil lofi. OBS notes that 60 fps can demand more from the computer than 30 fps.
5. Run a complete preflight test
Before announcing the stream, test the representative scene, music playback, and chosen output settings together. Check OBS’s Audio Mixer and output status, then watch YouTube’s stream health indicator. Listen to the received feed if possible, not just the local playback, and verify track transitions and visual movement. YouTube recommends testing the stream before broadcasting; OBS’s quick-start guidance also recommends a test before the first live broadcast.

Keeping an OBS stream running—and what can interrupt it
Enable and test reconnect behavior
OBS offers an automatic reconnect option under Settings → Advanced (the precise presentation can vary by version). Enable it and test a controlled interruption before relying on it. Reconnect behavior may help after a transient connection loss, but it is not a service-level uptime guarantee and does not cover every power, operating-system, application, or network failure. A computer meeting OBS’s basic requirements can still struggle with the selected encoder, output, or scene.
Understand YouTube’s 12-hour archive qualification
YouTube Help says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That statement is limited to streams shorter than 12 hours; it does not promise that a single 24-hour stream will be archived in full. If you need a replay, plan a separate recording and verify that the resulting files are usable and that you have the rights to retain them. YouTube’s documented encoder flow ends a stream when you stop sending content from the encoder.

Copyright and Content ID for Tamil lofi music
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A detected match may replace the broadcast with a placeholder, and unresolved third-party content can lead to interruption or termination. For licensed third-party material, YouTube advises asking the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license and an allowlist address different issues: YouTube warns that a stream can still be interrupted even if you have a license when the channel is not allowlisted. If an archived live stream receives a Content ID claim, YouTube says the claim is made after the stream ends. Read YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance.
Keep records of licenses and permissions, check whether they cover live broadcasts and archived replays, and seek the rights holder’s allowlisting process where applicable. Do not assume that changing the track, crediting its creator, or labeling it royalty-free grants streaming rights.

Choosing hardware without guessing at a 24/7 specification
OBS does not provide one universal CPU or GPU specification for this task: encoding demands change with encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity. Use the wizard, then test the desired output over a sustained period on the actual computer and network. Compare potential machines by supported hardware encoder, sustained encoding performance at your chosen output, operating-system support, network connection, and reliability. If the current computer fails a representative test, a computer capable of running OBS is the relevant equipment category; the available guidance does not establish a particular model, benchmark, or tier.
Troubleshooting common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not let you start the stream | Live access is not enabled, the channel is unverified, or a restriction applies. | Check channel verification and live-stream eligibility in YouTube Studio. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours. |
| YouTube receives no signal from OBS | Wrong service, server URL, or stream key; stream has not been started in OBS. | Recheck the YouTube stream’s URL and key against OBS Settings → Stream, then select Start Streaming. Keep the key private. |
| Stream health reports buffering or instability | Upload capacity is insufficient or variable, or the chosen bitrate is too demanding. | Repeat a speed test, lower resolution or bitrate, and test again. Use YouTube’s recommended settings as a starting point, not a guarantee. |
| Music is missing or too loud | The wrong source is selected, the source is muted, or mixer levels are unsuitable. | Check that the intended source plays and the Audio Mixer meters move. Listen to a test feed and adjust before the public stream. |
| Visual freezes or OBS struggles | The selected output or scene exceeds sustained computer capacity, or the source stops updating. | Test a simpler scene or lower output, verify the media source, and use OBS’s wizard to reset a starting configuration. Test sustained performance rather than relying only on minimum compatibility. |
| Live stream is interrupted after a music match | Third-party content was detected; a license may not have been paired with channel allowlisting. | Use material you have rights to stream and archive, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. Resolve the issue with the rights holder and YouTube guidance. |
| A full 24-hour replay is unavailable | YouTube’s automatic-archive statement covers streams under 12 hours, not a full continuous day. | Plan separate recordings or shorter sessions and verify the saved replay rather than assuming a 24-hour broadcast will be archived in full. |
