To stop LinkedIn emails without losing every update, open Settings & Privacy → Notifications, choose the category sending the messages, and switch off the email options you no longer want. You can leave other categories enabled and choose a lower email frequency where LinkedIn offers one. Email, mobile push, and in-app notifications have separate controls.
Change LinkedIn’s email notification settings
- Open Notifications. On desktop, select Me → Settings & Privacy → Notifications. In the mobile app, tap your profile photo, then choose Settings & Privacy → Notifications. LinkedIn’s email settings guide describes these routes.
- Choose the category behind the email. Categories may cover invitations and messages, jobs and opportunities, network activity, activity involving you, news and articles, offers and tips, or event updates. Open the relevant category to see its controls.
- Turn off unwanted email. Switch off the email option beside a notification type you do not want delivered to your inbox. Because the controls are category-specific, you can keep useful email updates while silencing others.
- Adjust frequency if available. Some settings offer a frequency choice. Select from the options actually displayed in your account; LinkedIn’s labels and controls can vary.
LinkedIn says members can manage the types and frequency of email and unsubscribe from specific messages. The exact categories and options may differ by account.

Pick the control that matches the problem

The alert-level Turn off option appears in the alert’s More menu when available. LinkedIn says it does not change what appears in your feed. See LinkedIn’s notification-updates guide for the alert controls.

Make sure you are changing the right delivery channel
LinkedIn notifications may appear in the app or website, arrive by email, or be sent as mobile push alerts. Turning off push notifications in the mobile app does not stop email; LinkedIn says notifications can still be viewed in the Notifications tab when push is off. To quiet your inbox, change the email option in LinkedIn’s notification preferences, not just your phone’s push settings. LinkedIn describes these channels in its notifications overview.

If LinkedIn emails keep arriving
- Return to Settings & Privacy → Notifications and check the email toggle in each category relevant to the messages. A different category may be responsible for a similar-looking email.
- Check the frequency selected in that category. LinkedIn’s troubleshooting guidance lists options such as Individually, Weekly, or LinkedIn recommended in a notification-setting context; use the choices shown in your account. Recommended frequency may group related messages.
- Look in your spam, junk, social, and promotional folders if an expected email is missing or seems misrouted. LinkedIn also notes that in some cases it may not send an email after you have already interacted with a feature or notification on its site or app.
- If the message has an Unsubscribe link in its footer, use it to stop that email type where applicable. For broader changes, review the category controls in settings.
