To stop ordinary Gemini calls on Android, revoke the Google app’s Phone permission: touch and hold the Google app, open App info → Permissions → Phone, then choose Don’t allow. Google says Gemini needs this permission to use the Phone app. You can instead disconnect Phone in Gemini’s Connected Apps settings, or use a narrower control if you only want to block calls while the phone is locked.

Block ordinary calls through the Phone app
- On your Android device, find the Google app icon and touch and hold it.
- Tap App info, then Permissions.
- Tap Phone and choose Don’t allow.
- Optionally, open Gemini settings, choose Connected Apps, and disconnect Phone as well.
The permission belongs to the Google app, even though you start the request in Gemini. Android menu names and locations can vary by device and Android version. Gemini’s ordinary Phone app integration is available in the Gemini mobile app on Android; Google says it is not available in Gemini in Google Messages or the Gemini web app. Do not use the Phone app in Gemini for emergency calls; place an emergency call directly from your device’s calling app. Google’s Gemini calling instructions

In Gemini settings, open Gemini on lock screen and turn off Allow calls and messages without unlocking. This prevents Gemini from making calls and sending texts without unlocking the device. It is narrower than revoking Phone permission: if you want to block ordinary calling access in general, use the permission or Connected Apps control instead. Google’s lock-screen help

Stop Gemini from being the default assistant
If the concern is Gemini activating as your device’s assistant, change the assistant rather than only its Phone access. In Gemini settings, choose Switch to Google Assistant. Alternatively, open Android Settings → Apps → Default apps → Digital assistant app and select another assistant or None, if your device offers that option. Labels and steps vary by device. Google notes that Assistant can help Gemini complete some quick voice actions; switching back may be useful if a feature you rely on is unsupported by Gemini. If you mean the separate “Call for me” feature
“Call for me” is a distinct agentic feature, not the ordinary Android Phone permission route. Google’s help page describes eligibility for users in the United States and, at the time stated there, lists these requirements: age 18 or older, a Pixel 11 with a US SIM, a Google AI subscription, the Public Beta Phone by Google app, the latest Gemini mobile app, and English as the device language. Google says availability is gradual, so eligibility and access may change; check the current help page and your app. To stop a pending task, tap Cancel before the call connects. People who do not want to receive automated calls from Gemini users can use Google’s recipient opt-out page. Google’s Call for me help
