How to Stop Future Merchant Payments on Cash App

Cash App’s Activity tab lets you block a merchant from using your account for future payments, but subscriptions and suspicious completed charges require separate steps.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To block a merchant from using your Cash App account for future payments, open the Activity tab and use the merchant-blocking control on the relevant activity. Cash App’s U.S. Terms of Service describe this route but do not specify an exact button label or device-specific sequence, so the wording and layout may vary.

Block a merchant from future Cash App payments

  1. Open Cash App and go to the Activity tab.

  2. Find the activity associated with the merchant and use the available control to block that merchant from using your account as a payment method for future payments. Cash App’s U.S. Terms of Service, last updated June 4, 2026, confirms the Activity-tab route; it does not name the control or give separate iPhone and Android steps. Cash App Terms of Service

What blocking does—and does not do

Blocking prevents the merchant from using your Cash App account as a payment method for future payments. It does not cancel an existing subscription or recurring charge, and it does not clear an outstanding balance. Contact the merchant directly to cancel a subscription or resolve a balance, as Cash App’s Terms of Service instruct.

Report a completed or suspicious payment separately

Blocking a merchant is not a refund request or a decision on a payment dispute. If a payment is already complete or you suspect fraud, report the payment through Cash App. Cash App’s scam guide says to open Activity, select the payment, and tap Report an issue. You can also reach Cash App Support through your profile. See Cash App’s guidance on what to do if you get scammed and its common scams guide.

What a merchant may see after a block

Cash App Pay partner documentation lists a decline reason for a customer who has blocked a merchant. That applies to the documented Cash App Pay payment flow; it does not establish how a merchant’s separate subscription billing system will behave. If recurring billing is involved, cancel directly with the merchant as well. See Cash App Pay’s payment-flow documentation.
