How to Stop Avast Pop-Ups on Windows and Other Devices

Use Silent mode to stop Avast Antivirus pop-ups on Windows, or adjust product-specific controls if you only want to suppress offers or website alerts.

To stop notifications from Avast Antivirus or Avast Premium Security on Windows, open Menu > Settings > General > Notifications and set Pop-up notifications treatment to Silent mode. Avast says this disables pop-ups, alerts, and messages, so use the narrower offers controls instead if you only want to stop promotional messages.

Stop all pop-ups from Avast Antivirus on Windows

  1. Open Avast Antivirus or Avast Premium Security.
  2. Select Menu > Settings.
  3. Open General > Notifications.
  4. Under Pop-up notifications treatment, select Silent mode.

Avast describes Silent mode as disabling pop-ups, alerts, and messages. It is therefore broader than an advertising-only setting; Avast’s instructions do not specify whether any security warnings remain visible. Follow the Avast notification instructions if the labels in your installed app differ.

Stop promotional offers without silencing everything

If the interruptions are upgrade offers or third-party product promotions, look for the separate Offers or privacy controls on the notifications page. Where available, turn off the relevant app-usage sharing preferences rather than enabling Silent mode. Disabling offers does not necessarily stop other Avast notifications.

There is an edition limitation: Avast says offers cannot be disabled in the free version of Avast Antivirus. Its privacy settings page notes that the Avast-offers option is enabled by default and does not appear in that free edition. The control may therefore be absent; it is not necessarily a setting you have overlooked. See Avast’s privacy settings guidance.

Choose the right instructions for your Avast app

The Windows Antivirus path does not apply to every Avast product. Avast One, Cleanup, Mobile Security, SecureLine VPN, AntiTrack, and Secure Browser have product-specific notification settings and navigation. Find the instructions for the exact app you use in Avast’s pop-up notification guide. Menu names and available controls can vary by product generation.

Website pop-ups in Avast Secure Browser

Website notifications and pop-ups or redirects are controlled in Secure Browser’s privacy and site settings. Those settings affect websites, not alerts generated by Avast Antivirus or another Avast app.

Silence Avast One only while using apps full screen

Avast One’s Do Not Disturb Mode can silence Avast One notifications while specified applications are in full-screen use. It is a conditional option, not a global switch for all Avast notifications. Avast documents a separate setting for silencing notifications from other third-party apps as well. See Avast One Do Not Disturb Mode.
