Turn off the playlist’s Loop control in YouTube. If only the current song repeats, turn off the separate repeat-current-video setting as well. These controls stop playback from repeating; they do not give you permission to use the track or prevent copyright detection if it remains in a livestream.

Open a video that belongs to the playlist.

Expand the playlist panel beside the video if it is collapsed.

Click Loop in the playlist controls to switch playlist repetition off. YouTube also documents repeat controls for TVs and game consoles; the available control may vary by device.

Start playing the playlist.

Open the playlist control box and tap Loop to turn playlist repetition off.

If the control shows a 1, it is set to repeat the current video. Tap again to disable that repeat state.

If the track is playing in a livestream
Turning off Loop only changes playback. If a copyrighted track is still part of your live broadcast, stop including it or replace it with music you are allowed to use. YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content; an unresolved match can result in an interruption or termination. A rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist even when you have a licence. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Using music under licence? Check that the permission covers livestreaming, any archived video, monetization, the relevant territories, and attribution requirements. Ask the rights holder whether your channel must be allowlisted through Content ID.

Not sure the rights cover your use? Stop the track and choose music whose permission or licence clearly covers the intended broadcast. A “free” or “royalty-free” label, or credit in the description, does not by itself establish that you have the necessary rights.

Choose replacement music with the right permissions
YouTube identifies public-domain music and music used with the copyright owner’s permission as safe options. It recommends the YouTube Audio Library and also points to original music, Creator Music in certain regions, and third-party paid or royalty-free catalogs. Check the terms for the specific track and use: confirm live and archived-stream coverage, monetization, territory, attribution, and any allowlisting requirement.

If you chose to archive a livestream, a Content ID claim may be made after the stream is complete. Stopping the playlist loop does not automatically remove an existing claim. For claimed content in an uploaded video, YouTube Studio may offer options to trim the claimed segment, replace the song with Audio Library music, or mute the song or all audio. A Content ID claim is distinct from a copyright removal request and strike, and may affect monetization or viewing availability, including by geography.
