If your Switchboard Live broadcast ends when the last playlist item finishes, first check whether the encoder or playlist app has stopped sending video. Switchboard receives that video and manages its destinations; the available Switchboard documentation does not identify a playlist-repeat control. Look for a loop, repeat, or continuous-play setting in the app supplying the video, then check Switchboard’s incoming-video monitor.
Find which part of the stream stopped
A setup like this has two control layers: the encoder or playlist application supplies video to Switchboard Live, and Switchboard routes that incoming feed to destinations. Switchboard describes its Encoder Workflow Pane as the place to connect streaming software, select an ingest protocol, and monitor the incoming stream. Its destination controls are separate.

When the playlist reaches its last item, check whether Switchboard’s confidence monitor still shows incoming video. That single observation helps distinguish a playback/output problem from a destination-broadcast problem.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- No incoming video after the final item: The encoder or playlist app may have stopped its output. Check that app’s playback and stream-output settings.
- Incoming video continues, but a destination has stopped: Check that destination’s broadcast status and controls in Switchboard.
- Only one destination stopped: Inspect that destination separately; a destination-level stop does not establish that the encoder feed or other destinations stopped.
Keep the playlist source sending video
Switchboard’s documentation does not establish a universal setting or menu path for repeating playlists. The exact steps depend on the encoder or playlist application and its version. In that application, look for a setting named something like Loop, Repeat, or Continuous play, and confirm that it applies to the playlist rather than only the current item. Treat these as general troubleshooting terms, not verified Switchboard controls.

- Identify the video source. Note the encoder or playlist app and version that sends video to Switchboard.
- Check the playlist behavior. Confirm whether the app is set to repeat the whole playlist, repeat a single item, or stop after the final item.
- Check output at playlist completion. Watch the app’s streaming/output status and Switchboard’s confidence monitor as the last item ends. If the monitor loses video, consult the app’s documentation or support for a playlist-repeat or continuous-output setting for that version.
- Verify the result. After changing the setting, observe a playlist transition or test completion and confirm that incoming video remains visible in Switchboard.
Check Switchboard when video still arrives
If Switchboard continues to receive video but a destination is no longer broadcasting, inspect the destination’s status and controls. Switchboard documents destination Start and Stop controls, including Start Now and Stop Now in Destination Details. Its documentation describes Stop as ending the broadcast to a specific destination; these controls are not playlist-repeat settings.
Switchboard also documents Auto-Start as a Stream Group toggle that starts the group’s destinations when the encoder connects. The product page describes destination Auto Start in the same general way: destinations start when streaming software or the encoder starts. Neither description says Auto-Start repeats a playlist or keeps a destination live after the encoder stops supplying video.

Switchboard lists RTMP, RTMPS, and SRT as supported ingest protocols. Those choices describe how the encoder connects to Switchboard; the documentation does not connect protocol selection to playlist looping. Changing protocol is therefore not a substantiated fix for a playlist that reaches its end.
