At the upper console, press L1 to start the experiment. In the chamber, insert a power block into the red-flashing tower, then remove a block from the blue-lit tower. Return to the upper console and activate its interaction prompt. The guide reports that the quest log updates after this final interaction.
Where this puzzle appears
This sequence is for the Testing Facility during the “Shut Down the Experiments” objective in “Unsupervised Science.” The walkthrough estimates the power-core shutdown at roughly 60 seconds. Follow the red-and-blue tower sequence in this chamber; another Testing Facility guide describes a different room layout and should not be treated as an additional step for this puzzle.

How to solve the upper-console, red-tower, and blue-tower puzzle
- Start the experiment: At the upper console, press
L1. - Power the red tower: Enter the chamber and insert a power block into the socket of the tower flashing red.
- Depower the blue-lit tower: Remove a power block from the socket of the tower glowing blue.
- Check the tower lights: Return to the console when all generator towers in the chamber glow green.
- Finish at the console: Activate its interaction prompt. The walkthrough reports a “Quest Log Updated” message after this interaction.
