Before going live, verify the channel’s eligibility and confirm that you have the rights to the music, recording, performance, and lyrics you plan to use. YouTube does not prescribe a particular lyric-overlay app or guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
Choose a way to send lyrics to YouTube
YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as ways to go live. For a prepared presentation with lyrics over a background or alongside bhajan audio, an encoder is a practical option because it can send a composed feed. The choice depends on your production setup; YouTube’s guidance does not require an encoder for every live stream or name a specific lyrics application.
If your lyrics are prepared as slides or a rendered video, arrange them in the visual feed before sending it to the encoder. Use short lines, readable type, strong contrast, and a consistent position so viewers can follow along. These are production recommendations, not YouTube-mandated formatting rules.
Set up the stream
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to go live. Its live-streaming guidance also includes a minimum age requirement. Check the channel’s current status in YouTube Live Control Room before planning the broadcast. - Prepare the lyric feed. Build the slides or composed video in the software you have chosen. Preview it at the intended output size and check that lyrics remain legible against every background.
- Create or select a live stream in Live Control Room. For encoder streaming, YouTube provides a stream URL and stream key. Enter these in the encoder’s streaming settings. You can reuse stream settings, and YouTube provides auto-start and auto-stop settings. Keep the stream key private: YouTube describes it as a password and address that lets the encoder connect to the stream. YouTube encoder settings.
- Start the encoder and confirm the preview. Check the lyrics, audio, and incoming stream status in Live Control Room before making the stream public. Menu labels and the exact encoder fields depend on the software and YouTube interface in use.
- Monitor the broadcast. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can prompt a warning and placeholder image; continued use can interrupt or terminate the stream. YouTube live-stream copyright guidance.
Clear the rights to lyrics and bhajan audio
Devotional subject matter does not automatically make a particular recording or lyric text free to use. A bhajan stream may include several distinct works and contributions: the underlying composition, a specific sound recording, a performance, and the lyrics or translation displayed on screen. YouTube identifies sound recordings and written works as kinds of content that may be protected. The rights required vary with the material and territory, so confirm permission or a valid license for the exact arrangement and intended use.

YouTube’s live-stream terms place the responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music licensing rights involving artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The terms also require applicable territorial approvals and licenses to remain in place for the duration of the stream. YouTube Terms of Service.
Even when you have a license, a live stream can still be interrupted if the rights owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Coordinate with the rights owner before broadcasting and, where possible, test the specific stream arrangement. YouTube live-stream copyright guidance.

Do not treat Creator Music as live-stream clearance
YouTube says Creator Music tracks are for long-form videos, not live streams or Shorts. Its page describes Creator Music as available to U.S. YouTube Partner Program creators, with expansion outside the U.S. pending. YouTube Creator Music.
Check licenses for any supposedly free music
YouTube points creators to its Audio Library for copyright-safe music, but a label such as “free” on another site does not establish that a track is safe to use. Plan for a 24/7 broadcast
A continuous stream needs a feed source and streaming method that can remain active. YouTube’s encoder setup documentation explains stream keys, URLs, and settings reuse; it does not establish an always-on uptime guarantee or provide a complete resilience plan for a 24/7 channel. Your ability to keep the stream running therefore depends on the chosen software, equipment, connection, and operating arrangement. The cited YouTube setup guidance also does not specify minimum computer requirements, so check the requirements of the encoder and production software you select.
Before relying on a setup, test the full path: the lyric feed, audio, encoder connection, and YouTube preview. Decide how you will notice a disconnection and restore the feed. Do not treat auto-start or settings reuse as proof that the stream will recover from every failure.
