To share your personal Venmo profile, open the app, tap Me, tap the QR-code button on your profile picture, then choose Venmo me. Show the code to someone nearby or use the share button to send it by text, email, or another available method. If a QR code is inconvenient, give them your Venmo username to search in the app.
Share your personal Venmo profile with a QR code
- Open the Venmo app and select Me.
- Tap the QR-code button on your profile picture.
- Select Venmo me.
- Show the code to the other person, or tap the share button to send it through text, email, or another available option.
- The recipient can scan the code with Venmo or their device camera to reach your profile.
Venmo’s personal QR-code instructions document this in-app sharing method. They do not establish a universal direct profile-URL format, so use the app’s share control rather than guessing a web address.

Share your username instead
If you cannot show or send the QR code, tell the recipient your Venmo username so they can look you up in the app. To check or edit it, go to Me > Settings > Account > Profile. Venmo usernames must be 5–30 characters; the only permitted special characters are hyphens and underscores, according to its username guidance.

Choose “Venmo me,” not “Show to pay”
For someone who needs to find your profile, choose Venmo me. The separate Show to pay option is intended for paying with Venmo at participating in-store businesses; it is not the profile-sharing choice.

Share a business profile QR code
Business profiles use a separate workflow from personal profiles. For an in-person business payment, open the business profile and tap Charge > QR Code > Venmo Me. You can share the code by text or email, or download a high-quality PDF to print. Customers can also search for the business name or username in Venmo. Venmo says businesses must opt in to its Search marketing feature to appear in searches. See its business QR-code instructions and Business Profiles FAQ.
A business QR code can be set to prefill a price, but the customer can edit the amount. Venmo says only one preset QR code can be live in the app at a time. Business profiles are for receiving payments for goods and services and are subject to fees and tax reporting requirements.

Profile sharing and privacy are separate
Sharing a QR code gives someone a way to reach your profile; it does not set who can see your friends list or payment activity. Friends-list visibility is controlled separately under Me > Settings > Privacy > Friends List. Payments shared with friends can appear in their feeds.
