You can add money to your PlayStation wallet through PlayStation Store using a supported payment method, or redeem a PlayStation Store gift card or wallet top-up code. The payment methods available depend on your account’s country or region.
Add funds online
- Open PlayStation Store and sign in to your account.
- Select your profile icon, then choose Payment Management > Add Funds.
- Choose an available payment method and an amount, then select Add Funds and follow the confirmation prompts.
- To check whether the top-up went through, look at your wallet balance in Payment Management.
Add funds on a PlayStation console
PS5
- Open Settings.
- Select Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Add Funds.
- Choose an available payment method and amount, then follow the prompts to confirm.
PS4
PlayStation’s regional support guidance lists this path: Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Add Funds. Menu wording or locations may differ by region or software version; check the current support guide for your account’s region if you do not see these options.

Use a PlayStation Store gift card or top-up code
Redeem a PlayStation Store gift card or wallet top-up code using PlayStation’s voucher redemption flow. Before buying or redeeming a code, check that its country or region matches your PlayStation account. PlayStation’s US terms specify that prepaid wallet value must be in the currency for the same country designated for the account.

For instance, PlayStation’s US payment-method page lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Cash App Pay; the UK and Canadian lists differ. These are regional examples, not a universal list, and accepted methods can change. See PlayStation’s accepted payment methods for your account’s region.

Know how wallet funds work
- Wallet funds are used first when you make a purchase. If the balance does not cover the full amount, you can pay the remainder with another payment method.
- A payment method may still be required when purchasing a subscription.
- Child accounts cannot add funds or payment methods themselves. Their purchases draw on the family manager’s wallet, subject to a monthly spending limit that defaults to zero.
- PlayStation’s US terms generally treat wallet funding as non-refundable and non-transferable, except where the law requires otherwise. Rules can vary by region, so consult the terms that apply to your account and add only what you intend to spend.
Troubleshoot a wallet top-up
Your card is rejected
Check that the payment method is accepted in the country or region for your account. A card registered in a different country from the Store region may not link. Try another accepted method or use a region-matched top-up code. See PlayStation’s card troubleshooting guidance.
Adding funds is unavailable
Check PlayStation service status and try again when the relevant services are operating. If the problem continues, follow PlayStation’s wallet funding troubleshooting steps.

The funds or purchase do not appear
Review your transaction history before trying the payment again. If you suspect a duplicate or accidental charge, compare the transaction record with your bank statement and contact PlayStation Support if needed.
