To share your screen in Talk Studio, open Share, choose a screen, window, tab, presentation, or supported media file, then click Show on stream beside that source. Sharing happens in the browser studio; mobile screen sharing is not supported by Streamlabs’ current guide.

-
Back in the studio, find the shared source in the left panel and click Show on stream. Selecting a source alone does not put it on the audience-facing canvas; this is the step that places it in the broadcast.
-
To make the shared content fill the presentation area, use Spotlight (the double-arrow icon) or double-click the shared window. Streamlabs says the spotlight layout can show the shared content fullscreen while keeping the presenter’s microphone audible.
Choose the right source
Entire screen, window, or tab
Share an entire screen when you need to move between applications, a window when you want to limit what viewers see, or a tab for browser-based material. Sharing only the intended window or tab can help avoid displaying notifications or unrelated content.
Slides and presentations
Talk Studio’s native presentation sharing accepts PDF, PPT, and PPTX files. Streamlabs’ screen-sharing guide lists a maximum file size of 50 MB and a maximum of 200 pages. These limits apply to presentation uploads, not to the size or quality of the live stream. Allow time for a large presentation to convert before going live.

Video and background audio
The guide lists MP4 for video and MP3 or WAV for background audio. If the video or tab should play sound for viewers, check the audio-sharing option offered for that source; file playback and sharing a browser tab’s audio are different source choices.
Share tab or system audio
Audio options depend on the operating system and the type of source selected. When you share a browser tab, look for Share tab audio. For other share types, choose a system-audio option if Talk Studio and your operating system offer one. If no audio option appears, that source or OS configuration may not support it.
-
Before the live segment, play a short test and confirm that viewers can hear the intended sound.

On macOS, browser screen-recording permission may be required before screen or window capture works.
Requirements and limitations
Mobile devices
Streamlabs’ screen-sharing guide says mobile devices do not support screen sharing because of operating-system limitations. Use a supported desktop setup for this workflow rather than expecting the mobile studio to share the device screen.
Mac screen-recording permission
If screen capture is blocked on a Mac, open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording and allow the browser you use for Talk Studio. Streamlabs recommends Chrome in its guest setup guidance. Relaunch the browser if macOS prompts you to do so. Guests who plan to share should grant access before joining.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsGuest browser guidance
For guests joining a studio, Streamlabs recommends Chrome on PC, Mac, or Android, and Safari on iOS. This is guest guidance, not a complete compatibility list for every host setup. The mobile screen-sharing limitation still applies.

Fix common screen-sharing problems
The source is selected but viewers cannot see it
Return to the studio’s left panel and click Show on stream beside the source. Choosing a source in the browser’s sharing picker is not the same as adding it to the broadcast canvas.
The screen or window does not appear
-
On a Mac, check the browser’s permission under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording, then relaunch the browser if required.
-
Make sure you selected the intended screen, window, or tab in the browser’s share picker. If needed, stop sharing and select it again.

If you are on a mobile device, use a desktop setup; the official guide says mobile screen sharing is unsupported.
Viewers cannot hear the shared content
Check whether the selected source offers Share tab audio or a system-audio option, and enable it before sharing. Audio support varies with the operating system and source type, so test playback before relying on it live.
The presentation is not ready
Confirm that the file is PDF, PPT, or PPTX and does not exceed the guide’s stated limits of 50 MB and 200 pages. Larger uploads may take time to convert; wait for conversion to finish before starting that part of the presentation.
The shared content is too small
Use Spotlight (double-arrow icon) or double-click the shared window to emphasize it in a fullscreen layout.
Or let it run in the cloud
Talk Studio screen sharing is for presenting a screen or supported media source; if your separate goal is to keep uploaded videos running as a 24/7 YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
