Open Samsung Find on your supported Galaxy device and select the People tab.

Choose the option to share your location or request another person’s location, then follow the prompts in the app.

Select a duration: one hour, one day, or until sharing is turned off.

If you request someone else’s location, they must accept the request before you can see it. Samsung’s FAQ says, “Your location is shared only if you accept a location-sharing request.”
Samsung says a person may receive a notification when someone they shared with checks their location. To end sharing, use the People sharing controls in Samsung Find and turn it off. The available features and exact controls can vary by device, software, carrier, and region.

Samsung Find shares people; other features locate devices and items
People tab: a person’s shared location
Use People to share your phone’s associated location with another person or request theirs. Samsung says the People location is associated with the selected main device in that person’s Samsung account. If they have multiple devices, the current device is indicated.
Devices tab: your registered Galaxy devices
The Devices tab is for finding registered Galaxy devices and connected wearables. It is distinct from sharing a person’s location.

Items and SmartTags: belongings, not a person’s phone
SmartTags are registered through SmartThings and are used to locate tagged items. A tag is not required for Samsung Find People sharing and does not share a person’s phone location. SmartThings Find is also a separate device-finding function.
Check the displayed location and refresh it
Samsung support says the People and Devices tabs do not automatically refresh their locations simply because you open a tab. Tap Refresh when you need an updated display. Do not treat a displayed point as a guarantee of continuous updates or an exact position.

For enabling a phone to be found if it is lost, Samsung lists this path in Samsung Find: More > Settings > Allow devices to be found > This device > Allow this phone to be found. It also lists Settings > Security and privacy > Lost device protection in device settings. These are device-finding settings, not universal setup steps for sharing with a person.

If Samsung Find is unavailable to you or the other person uses Google services, Google Location Sharing is an alternative through services such as Maps. Google says the feature is off by default and requires a Google Account, a mobile device, an active internet connection, and device location enabled. People you choose can see your name, profile picture, real-time location, and battery status. Google cautions that in busy areas, the map may occasionally show an incorrect nearby point of interest.

Samsung Find location sharing is available in the app; Samsung says its website does not offer all app features. Check your local app store and device compatibility: Samsung’s UK pages say the app is available in all countries except mainland China, while supported devices and features can vary by country, region, carrier, model, and operating system.
Privacy and family-account considerations

Another person’s location is not shared merely because you request it; acceptance is required.

Choose a limited duration if you only need temporary sharing, and turn sharing off when it is no longer needed.

Samsung says child-account location sharing requires parental or guardian consent and is restricted to members of the Samsung account Family group.
