Other users on the enabled PS5 can play eligible games downloaded by that account, but they cannot redeem Plus games to their own accounts or use every subscriber benefit.
Enable Console Sharing and Offline Play
- Sign in to the PS5 using the account that purchased the games or has the PlayStation Plus membership you want to share.
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
- Select Enable. If another PS5 already has this setting enabled for the account, disable it there first.
- Download the eligible games using the enabling account. Other users on this PS5 can then play those downloaded titles from their own profiles.
Sony says Console Sharing and Offline Play is automatically allowed on the first PS5 used to sign in to PlayStation. The setting can be enabled on one PS5 at a time. Sony’s PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play instructions give the current steps and account-management options.

Which PlayStation Plus benefits can other users access?
On the enabled PS5, other users can access certain Plus benefits while the subscriber’s membership is active. Catalog access also depends on the subscriber’s plan and whether a title is still available.
- Online multiplayer, subject to parental controls.
- Downloaded games bought with a PlayStation Plus discount.
- Downloaded Monthly Plus games redeemed by the subscriber.
- PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics Catalog titles included with the subscriber’s membership plan and still available.
The distinction between playing and claiming matters: another user can play an eligible Plus game the subscriber has redeemed and downloaded, but that user cannot redeem the Plus game on their own account through sharing. Sony’s PlayStation Plus sharing guidance lists which benefits are and are not shareable.

What is not shared
Console sharing does not give other users every feature attached to the subscriber’s account. Sony lists these benefits as not shareable:
- Buying discounted products from PlayStation Store.
- Redeeming PlayStation Plus games on another account.
- Online storage.
- Automatic patch downloads.
- Early access to time-limited trials.
Can you share Plus with someone on a different PS5?
No. These shared benefits apply to other accounts using the single PS5 where Console Sharing and Offline Play is enabled. They do not extend to a friend using a different PS5. Sony also allows selected PlayStation Plus benefits on one primary PS4, but that does not let the PS5 sharing setting cover multiple PS5 consoles. Sony’s support page explains the console boundary.

Move sharing to a new PS5
If the previous PS5 is available, sign in to the relevant account there, open Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play, and disable the setting. Then enable it on the new PS5 using the steps above.

Fix common sharing problems
- Sharing will not enable: Check whether the account has Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled on another PS5. Disable it there, or use Sony’s remote deactivation option if the console is inaccessible.
- A game is unavailable: Confirm that the enabling account purchased or redeemed it and downloaded it. For a Plus title, check that the membership is active and, for catalog games, that the title remains available under the account’s plan.
- A child account cannot play: Check the game’s age rating and the family’s parental-control settings. Online multiplayer access can also be restricted by parental controls.
- A game shows a padlock: Sony identifies a padlock as a possible license or network issue. Check the account and game eligibility, then check PlayStation service status, install current system software, restart the console, and restart the router after waiting at least five minutes.
