On desktop, go to Settings and more (…) > Settings > Start, home, and new tab page, turn on Show home button on the toolbar, then choose Enter URL and type the address you want. If you want that site to open whenever Edge starts, set the separate startup option too.
Set the Home button page on desktop
- Open Microsoft Edge and select Settings and more (…) in the toolbar.
- Select Settings, then open Start, home, and new tab page.
- Turn on Show home button on the toolbar.
- Choose Enter URL and enter the website address you want. To use Edge’s default page instead, choose New tab page.
Microsoft’s desktop homepage instructions describe these options. Once enabled, the Home button appears on the toolbar; selecting it opens the page you chose.

Set a homepage in the Edge mobile app
- Tap the menu (…) and open Settings.
- Look for Home page. In some versions it appears under General > Home page.
- Choose A specific page, enter a web address or use the current page, then tap Save. Choose New tab page to use Edge’s default instead.
Microsoft’s mobile FAQ describes the mobile Home page control. Its app help lists a direct Settings > Home page path for Android. Labels and placement can vary; if you do not see General, look for Home page directly in Settings.

- Home page: the page opened by the Home button. On desktop, enable that button before using it.
- Startup page: what Edge displays when you launch the browser. In Start, home, and new tab page, choose what Edge should display on startup if you want your chosen site to appear at launch.
- New-tab page: what appears when you open a new tab. Its layout and content are separate from the Home button and startup preferences.
Microsoft explains the distinction in its Edge startup and new-tab guidance. Changing the Home button alone does not make a site open automatically at startup.
