Choose a check frequency and notification channel, then verify every alert on the authority’s own portal. Visualping checks on a schedule; it cannot guarantee an alert at the instant a result is published.
Find the right official page first
Start with the authority responsible for your examination, not an unofficial results aggregator. Prefer a results or notices listing for the specific exam over a general homepage if one is available. Confirm that the portal is responsible for that exam and result type.

- UPSC: Its official site separates written-result and final-result sections. Find the section or listing relevant to your examination at UPSC.
- SSC: The Staff Selection Commission’s policy page directs candidates to ssc.gov.in for current results and other updates. Use the current portal as the result destination, rather than assuming the policy page itself hosts the result.
Authorities can reorganize pages, so check that the URL you monitor still belongs to the relevant official portal.
Set up the Visualping monitor
- Open Visualping and select Start monitoring.
- Paste the official results-page URL and click Go. Review the preview to make sure the page has loaded and the relevant results content is visible.
- Select the whole page or, when available, the results list, notice area, or other stable section containing the exam update. A focused area can avoid unrelated changes elsewhere on the page.
- Enter a specific criterion, such as: “A new result notice, result link, or result PDF is posted for [full exam name and year].” This is example wording, not a tested prompt. If you need to be told about any page change, choose Visualping’s any-change option, knowing that it can produce more irrelevant alerts.
- Choose the check frequency, set notifications, and start monitoring. Email is enabled by default. Other channels and plan requirements are listed in Visualping’s notification settings guide.
Visualping’s Help Center says, “Changes are not detected as soon as they happen, a check needs to happen before you can be alerted” in How to create a basic monitoring job (edited 28 September 2026). A notice published just after a check may therefore wait until the next scheduled check to trigger an alert.

Choose a useful check frequency and notification channel
New Visualping monitors are checked daily by default. Its current frequency guide lists these fastest frequencies by plan; they are service settings, not independent measurements, and plan details can change. Check the live plan and monitor settings before relying on a particular interval.
| Plan named in Visualping’s guide | Fastest listed frequency | Example monthly check volume |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Every 1 hour | About 720 checks for an hourly monitor |
| Starter; Business 5K | Every 15 minutes | Not stated in the guide for these examples |
| Personal 5K | Every 5 minutes | Not stated in the guide for this example |
| Personal 10K and Business 10K-and-above | Every 2 minutes | Not stated in the guide for these examples |
| Daily monitor example | Daily | About 30 checks a month |
Figures and plan labels are from Visualping’s current frequency guide. Each check uses one check from the monthly allowance, including a failed check. Faster checks may spot a change sooner, but they consume the allowance more quickly; the guide’s hourly and daily monthly totals are examples, not guaranteed counts for every calendar month.
Visualping lists email as available to all users and the default. Its current guide lists SMS for Personal 5K or above; Slack, Google Sheets, Microsoft Teams, Discord, and RSS for Business plans; and webhook, n8n, Telegram, API, and MCP for all users. Confirm availability in the current notification settings guide, since entitlements can change.
Monitor a result PDF when its link or file changes
If the authority replaces a PDF while keeping its URL the same, you can monitor the PDF directly. Visualping says PDF monitoring covers the first 100 pages; changes after page 100 are not detected. For a longer document, inspect the official file itself and consider monitoring its listing page too.
If each release gets a new PDF URL, monitor the official page that links to the result instead. Focus on the result listing or link area so a newly added document is more likely to stand out. See Visualping’s PDF monitoring guidance.
Troubleshoot missed or noisy alerts
No alert arrived
- Check whether Visualping completed a scheduled check after the result page changed. A monitor cannot alert before it checks.
- Review the monitor’s notification settings, any muted workspace settings, and your email spam or junk folder.
- Open the official page directly. No alert is not proof that the authority has not published a result.
Alerts are triggered by unrelated changes
- Change from whole-page monitoring to a stable results section if possible.
- Make the criterion specific to the full exam name, year, and result notice or PDF you expect.
- Use Visualping’s options to block distracting pop-ups, banners, advertisements, or carousels where appropriate. Its guidance notes that an any-change setting can create more false alerts.
The preview does not show the result area
Allow more time for the page to load or use page actions for interactive elements, then review the preview again before starting the monitor. Visualping describes these options in its basic monitoring guide.

Verify every result on the authority’s portal
Treat an alert as a prompt to investigate, not as an official declaration that you passed, were selected, or received a particular score. Open the linked authority page and confirm the notice or result document there. UPSC’s official results page, for example, currently separates written and final result categories; SSC directs candidates to its current portal at ssc.gov.in. The relevant authority’s own notice is the source to rely on for your outcome.

If your goal is to capture a page as an image or PDF rather than receive change alerts, ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API and MCP server for developers. It is not a replacement for Visualping’s scheduled change monitoring. A one-call screenshot example is:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://ssc.gov.in/ -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free.
