To show TipeeeStream donation alerts on a live broadcast, configure a widget in TipeeeStream’s Streaming section, copy its widget URL, and add that URL as a Browser source in OBS or a Browser Source in Streamlabs. Position the source in your scene, then use TipeeeStream’s alert configuration to preview it. The preview confirms the animation can display; it does not verify a real payment or payout.
Before you start
- Sign in to TipeeeStream and have the broadcasting software you use—OBS or Streamlabs—open.
- Decide which scene should show the alert and where it should appear. You can position and resize the browser source in the software preview.
- Review the payment methods and settings shown in your own TipeeeStream account. Listed features and payment options are not a guarantee that every option is available in every country or account.
TipeeeStream’s Help Center documents the widget setup and browser-source workflow. Interface labels can change, so if your screen differs, use the current instructions and options shown in your account.

Configure the TipeeeStream widget and copy its URL
- Sign in to TipeeeStream and open Streaming from the page menu.
- Choose the widget you want and configure its appearance and behavior. Depending on the controls available to your account, settings may include payment methods and minimum or suggested donation amounts, custom messages, file attachments, sounds, animations, text-to-speech, goals, counters, dashboards, and layouts. Check the settings visible to you rather than assuming every option is enabled.
- After configuring the widget, locate the field containing its widget URL and select Copy.
- Keep that URL private as a configuration link. The documented workflow uses it in broadcasting software; it is not presented as a general link to publish.
Add the widget to OBS
- In OBS, open the scene where the alert should appear and find Sources.
- Select +, choose Browser, then create and name the source.
- Paste the TipeeeStream widget URL into the source’s URL field and confirm.
- Select the source in the preview. Drag it to the desired position and use its edge handles to resize it.

- Open the scene where you want the alert and go to Sources.
- Select +, choose Browser Source, then create and name the source.
- Paste the TipeeeStream widget URL and confirm.
- Select the source in the preview, drag it into position, and resize it with the edge handles.
Preview the alert and refresh after edits
Preview the animation
In TipeeeStream’s alert configuration, select Restart animation. The alert should appear in the broadcasting software preview; TipeeeStream notes that it may first appear as a colored rectangle.

Refresh the source after changing the widget
If you edit the widget in TipeeeStream, refresh its corresponding browser source so the software loads the latest version:
- OBS: Select the source and use Refresh.
- Streamlabs: Open the source gear and select Refresh cache of current page.

Check account-specific donation settings
TipeeeStream lists controls for payment methods, minimum or suggested amounts, messages, attachments, sounds, animations, text-to-speech, goals, counters, dashboards, and layouts. What you can enable may depend on your account and location; check the options and applicable payment terms in your dashboard before inviting viewers to contribute. See TipeeeStream’s feature page.

Verify whether the YouTube Super Chat integration is available to you
TipeeeStream’s news page describes a setup path that selects YouTube as the Master-Account and configures the Superchat tab in Alert Box. The page also contains historical announcements and older technical notes, so treat this as a path to check in your dashboard—not a guarantee of current availability for every account. If you are fundraising, distinguish a tip paid to you from a payment processed through Twitch’s Charity tool. Twitch’s guidance says that a viewer payment to a streamer who later donates the money to charity is not treated as a charitable donation for tax purposes under that guidance. Read Twitch’s charity guidance and consult the applicable rules for your location; do not describe ordinary tips as tax-deductible charitable gifts.

Advanced integrations: when the API is relevant
The browser-source steps are sufficient for a standard on-screen alert. For custom integrations, TipeeeStream’s developer documentation describes API access to donation, subscriber, follower, and hosting data, writing data and triggering events, and receiving real-time events through sockets. It describes an account API key for API access and OAuth 2 for posting on behalf of users. These are developer routes, not requirements for adding a widget to OBS or Streamlabs. Start with the TipeeeStream developers page and its API documentation.
Troubleshooting
- The widget does not appear: Check that you pasted the copied widget URL into the browser source’s URL field, confirmed the source, and are viewing the scene that contains it.
- You see a colored rectangle: TipeeeStream says the alert may initially appear that way in the preview. Trigger Restart animation in alert configuration to preview the animation.
- The preview still shows the previous design: Refresh the source after editing the widget—use Refresh in OBS or Refresh cache of current page from the Streamlabs source gear.
- The alert is in the wrong place or too large: Select the source in the software preview, drag it to reposition, and use its edge handles to resize.
- A payment method or integration is missing: Availability is not established for every account or country. Check your dashboard and the service’s current terms rather than assuming an option shown in feature descriptions is available to you.
- The animation works but a real donation has not been confirmed: The animation preview does not test payment processing or payout. Verify the payment setup separately in your account.
