Connect the DeathAdder V3 Pro with its included 2.4 GHz wireless receiver or USB-C cable. It works as a standard pointing device without Razer Synapse; install Synapse if you want to remap buttons, configure macros, or manage profile settings. Button assignments are under Mouse > Customize in Synapse.

Use the button on the underside to turn the mouse on: Razer says holding the Power/DPI cycle button for three seconds toggles power. A quick press and release cycles through the DPI stages.

No software is required for standard pointing and clicking. Install and open Razer Synapse when you want advanced settings such as button assignments, macros, or profile configuration. Select the DeathAdder V3 Pro in Synapse to access its settings.
How to remap the mouse buttons
- Open Razer Synapse and select the DeathAdder V3 Pro.
- Open Mouse, then choose the Customize subtab.
- Select a button in the on-screen mouse diagram and choose an assignment offered by Synapse.
- Select or save the profile you want to use, then try the new mapping in a low-risk app before relying on it in a game or regular workflow.
Razer’s user guide identifies Customize as the place to modify button assignments. Exact labels and available assignment options may differ by Synapse version.

Understand profiles and Hypershift
Onboard profile
Razer describes one onboard profile based on the last-used Synapse profile, including custom DPI and button settings. Do not assume the mouse stores multiple complete profiles onboard; select the profile you want in Synapse.
Optional Hypershift layer
Hypershift adds a secondary set of assignments while you hold a designated Hypershift key. Razer’s guide says the default is the Fn key on a supported Razer keyboard, and a mouse button can also be assigned as the Hypershift key. It is an optional way to give a button another function, not a requirement for basic remapping.

Wireless or wired: which should you choose?
| Connection | What it means |
|---|---|
| Included 2.4 GHz receiver | Use the mouse wirelessly with the receiver supplied with it. |
| USB-C cable | Connect the mouse by cable when you prefer wired operation. |
Either connection method supports the basic setup described above; neither replaces Synapse for advanced remapping.
Optional polling-rate upgrade and battery figures
Razer says its separately sold HyperPolling Wireless Dongle supports wireless polling rates up to 8000 Hz. It is not needed to connect the mouse or customize its buttons. Razer’s support page lists battery life of up to 90 hours at 1000 Hz and up to 17 hours at 8000 Hz; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results, and the stated runtime varies with polling rate.
