Configure the upload in the Configuration Manager console; view uploaded devices and use supported cloud actions in the admin center.
What tenant attach does—and where to manage it
Tenant attach makes Configuration Manager-managed devices visible in the Intune admin center, where administrators can use supported actions. Microsoft lists workflows such as running PowerShell scripts, installing apps, running CMPivot queries, and viewing event timelines. The console handles onboarding and upload configuration; it is not a separate dashboard for those cloud workflows. See Microsoft’s device sync and device actions documentation.

Tenant attach is distinct from the other capabilities that may appear in Cloud Attach setup. Microsoft’s simplified defaults can include tenant attach together with automatic Intune enrollment for eligible devices, Endpoint analytics, and Defender for Endpoint reporting data. Review each option rather than assuming that enabling tenant attach inherently enables all of them.

Check prerequisites before onboarding
- Use a Microsoft Entra Global Administrator account for onboarding.
- To access the Intune admin center, the administrator needs at least one Intune license.
- Confirm the Configuration Manager administration service is functioning.
- The Azure tenant and the service connection point must be in matching geographic locations.
- Confirm that required permissions and internet endpoint connectivity are in place, especially for the actions you plan to use.
- Check the current prerequisites documentation for the Configuration Manager version and capabilities you intend to use: Microsoft Intune tenant attach prerequisites.
Enable tenant attach in Configuration Manager
- Open the Configuration Manager console and go to Administration > Cloud Services > Cloud Attach.
- If co-management is already enabled, open its properties and configure device upload there. If co-management is not enabled, start the Cloud Attach Configuration Wizard. In Configuration Manager versions 2103 and earlier, the documentation places this configuration under the Co-management node.
- When prompted to choose device scope, select all Configuration Manager-managed devices or a specific collection, depending on the setup path and available options. Check the selection against your organization’s access and governance requirements before continuing.
- Review the wizard summary and the Cloud Attach options it will apply, then complete the configuration. Microsoft’s current Cloud Attach guidance describes the setup paths and options.
Choose the upload scope deliberately
| Scope | What it means | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
| All managed devices | Uploads the Configuration Manager-managed device population covered by the setup. | Use when broad cloud visibility fits your governance and operational requirements. |
| Selected collection | Limits upload to devices in the collection you choose, where that option is presented. | Use when you need to restrict the initial or ongoing scope to a defined subset. |
Microsoft’s setup documentation identifies the available scope choices but does not establish one universally best choice. Confirm which devices should be visible in the cloud, and inspect the wizard summary before applying changes.

Find uploaded devices and use cloud actions
After synchronization, open the Intune admin center and go to Devices > All devices. Configuration Manager-managed entries show ConfigMgr in the Managed by column. From there, administrators can use the supported tenant attach actions available for their configuration. Microsoft describes device synchronization and actions in its tenant attach documentation.
Know the device-list API limitation
Configuration Manager devices are currently excluded from device lists retrieved through PowerShell or the Microsoft Graph API. Microsoft points administrators to the Intune admin center’s All devices export as a workaround. This limitation concerns those retrieved device lists; it does not mean uploaded devices are absent from the admin center.

Troubleshoot onboarding and connectivity
If onboarding fails or devices do not appear as expected, first verify the prerequisites: onboarding account, Intune license for admin-center access, administration service health, matching geographic locations, and permissions. Then validate that the service connection point can reach the required internet endpoints. Use Microsoft’s prerequisites guidance alongside the Cloud Attach setup documentation to check the requirements for your environment.
