To show Super Chat alerts on an OBS-powered YouTube loop stream, first confirm that your channel and the specific live stream are eligible, turn on Supers in YouTube Studio, connect a compatible alert integration, and add its current alert widget to the OBS scene. A looping video does not by itself make a stream eligible or ineligible: YouTube’s channel, location, and live-chat requirements still apply.

YouTube requires creators to meet its fan-funding requirements, live in an available location, and accept and comply with the applicable terms and policies. Check the individual live stream
Super Chat is unavailable on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. It is also unavailable if live chat or comments are turned off. A loop stream is not exempt from these restrictions, and looping alone is not a stated eligibility test.

Enable Supers and connect an alert integration
- Enable fan funding in YouTube Studio. Turn on Super Chat and Super Stickers if the feature is available to your channel. Confirm this before setting up a third-party overlay.
- Link Streamlabs to your YouTube channel. YouTube’s documented flow is to sign in with Google Sign-In and follow the prompts to link the channel. Then configure widgets and alerts in Streamlabs. Follow YouTube’s instructions for third-party integrations with Super Chat and channel memberships.
- Get the current alert widget details from Streamlabs. Use the widget instructions and URL shown in the connected service’s current interface; do not copy a URL or OBS setting from an unverified guide.
- Add the widget to the OBS scene used by the loop stream. Configure it using the current instructions provided by the alert service. YouTube’s documentation describes the integration and widgets, but does not establish the current widget URL or exact OBS source fields. Check Streamlabs’ current product guidance for those specific values rather than guessing.
Verify the chat and on-screen alert separately
A Super Chat appears in YouTube live chat; the alert widget is a separate on-stream display. If the integration offers a test function, use it to check the overlay. Also verify the live chat feed and the OBS scene independently. YouTube’s cited guidance does not describe a test-purchase procedure.

Viewers send Super Chats through YouTube live chat. YouTube says live chat appears on watch pages, not in embedded players; an embedded viewer may therefore not see the chat interaction in the same way as someone watching on YouTube. See YouTube’s overview of live streams.
Choose an integration that actually supports Super Chat
Streamlabs is the integration YouTube specifically documents for Super Chat alerts and widgets. Other tools named by YouTube serve different documented purposes: StreamElements is listed for recognizing channel members with overlays and live alerts, while IFTTT is listed for Super Chat-triggered interactions; the cited material does not establish that IFTTT creates an OBS on-screen alert. YouTube also describes its Live Chat API as a route for external tools to read and moderate chat and display Super Chats. A custom API integration is a separate, more technical option. Before granting account access, review a provider’s current terms and make sure it explicitly supports YouTube Super Chat. YouTube notes that third-party tools are not made or endorsed by Google. Use the provider’s documented Google sign-in flow; do not share your Google password with a service. You can remove a third-party app’s Google Account access if you no longer want it connected.

Know how Super Chat revenue is handled
YouTube states that creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google, after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted. This is YouTube’s published revenue-share description; it is not a guarantee of a particular amount from any stream. See YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers management guidance.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- Super Chat is missing from YouTube Studio: Check the channel’s Earn area, fan-funding requirements, and location availability. Do not proceed on the assumption that every channel can enable Supers.
- Viewers cannot send a Super Chat on this stream: Check that live chat or comments are enabled and that the stream is not age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, or a YouTube Giving fundraiser.
- Super Chats appear in chat but not in OBS: The chat feature and the alert overlay are separate. Confirm that the correct widget from the connected service is configured in the scene actually used for streaming, then consult that service’s current OBS instructions.
- The alert service cannot connect or stops recognizing the channel: Recheck the channel link through its documented sign-in flow and review the provider’s current connection guidance. Never resolve a connection problem by handing over your Google password.
- You are considering another alert provider: Verify that it explicitly supports YouTube Super Chat, not merely chat overlays, memberships, or generic notifications. YouTube’s list of tools does not establish that every listed product provides a Super Chat overlay.
