To change PS VR2 Sense controller controls for a particular SteamVR game, press the PS button on either controller to open the SteamVR dashboard, then open SteamVR Settings and find the controller-binding controls. Select the game or application and edit the button or stick assignments for the actions you need. Bindings are game-specific; there is no single mapping that applies to every VR title.

Choose or edit a binding, then assign the game actions you want to the relevant buttons and sticks. Save or apply the changes using the controls shown in SteamVR.
-
Return to the game and check that the assigned inputs perform the intended actions. If a control still behaves incorrectly, revisit that game’s binding rather than assuming the same layout works for another title.
PlayStation Support says some VR games require binding changes, which can be made when starting a game or from settings. Its guidance does not give a universal button-by-button mapping, so use the actions and binding options for your specific game.

Headset works in SteamVR and only one button or stick action is wrong: begin with the selected game’s controller bindings.
-
One or both controllers are missing: check that each Sense controller has been paired to the Windows PC over Bluetooth.
-
Headset is not connected or SteamVR cannot use it: complete Sony’s PS VR2 PC adapter setup before troubleshooting in-game bindings.
Valve’s developer documentation notes that input-binding setup affects how many users can play a game and that automatic rebinding can be difficult for some controller profiles. That explains why support and binding quality may vary by game; it is not an official PS VR2 mapping guide.

Sony’s PC setup instructions describe Bluetooth pairing for the controllers. If an update is required, update the device in the PlayStation VR2 App and restart SteamVR afterward. The SteamVR dashboard can also show controller battery level.

For initial PC use, Sony specifies the PS VR2 PC adapter, its power connection, a USB 3.0 Type-A connection to the PC, a DisplayPort 1.4 cable from the adapter to the PC, and the headset connected to the adapter’s USB-C port. Sony lists the DisplayPort cable as sold separately. Finish the on-screen instructions in the PlayStation VR2 App.
The CFI-ZVP1 PC Adapter Instruction Manual warns: “Do not use an extension cable or USB hub with the PC adapter, as it may cause it to malfunction.”
Why SteamVR controls may look different
SteamVR’s in-headset binding interface can change between releases. In its 5 August 2025 SteamVR 2.12 announcement, Valve said it made the binding UI smaller for in-headset use, fixed a binding-save issue, and added controller offsets under Options for Legacy, SteamVR Input, and OpenXR inputs. Those release notes describe that version; exact labels or placement may differ in another version.
