To get notified when a product reaches a price you want, choose a tracker that covers your retailer and country, follow the exact item and variant, set a target if the service allows it, and enable its notifications. Then check the seller, item condition, shipping, and live checkout price before buying: an alert is a prompt to look, not a guarantee that the same offer is still available.
Set up a price alert in a few steps
- Choose a tracker: Use Google Shopping for products across retailers where available, or an Amazon-focused tracker for Amazon marketplace price history and alerts.
- Find the exact product: Confirm the model, size, color, capacity, and other options. A similar listing or variant may have a different price history.
- Set a target and notification: If offered, choose the price threshold that would make you consider buying. Enable email or push alerts, and grant any required notification permission.
- Check the history and the live offer: Review the price type and seller shown in the chart, then verify the current listing, condition, shipping, and total at checkout.
Price trackers can help you avoid repeated manual checks, but prices and availability change. The displayed history may not match the offer you see later.

Set up Google Shopping price tracking
Google Shopping requires you to be signed in to a Google Account. Google lists tracking availability in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and India; features can differ by device and Google surface as rollout continues. Check that the option appears in your local interface and that notifications are allowed.
- Open Google Search or the Google app and sign in to your Google Account.
- Search for a product or category, then open or scroll to the product card for the item you want.
- Select Track price.
- If the item has variants, select the size, color, or other option you want to follow. Enter a target price if that choice is offered.
- Confirm tracking and allow notifications. Google’s confirmation wording says, “You’ll get push notifications and emails on price drops and related content.”
Google says a push notification and email are sent when the price falls below your target. You can review tracked items in your saved items and use email or phone notification controls to remove a watch or silence updates. For current steps and availability, see Google Shopping price tracking help.

Track Amazon prices and inspect price history
For Amazon purchases, distinguish a price-history chart from an alert. History shows how a price has changed; an alert from a tracker can notify you when a chosen threshold is met or stock returns. Neither tells you that the exact same seller, shipping, or condition will still be available when you open the listing.
Use Amazon price history
Amazon’s article describes opening price history from a link beside the price on a product page or through Alexa for Shopping in the app or desktop interface. It describes 30-, 90-, and 365-day history views. The article lists availability in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and India; it says 365-day insights were rolling out in the United States, United Kingdom, and India. Amazon reports that more than 50 million customers had checked price history since its launch in 2024 and that the average customer checked it three times a month. These are Amazon’s company-reported figures in its 2026 article, not independently verified usage statistics.

Use camelcamelcamel for threshold email alerts
On camelcamelcamel, find the Amazon product and set a price threshold for the price type you care about. The service offers charts and watch management for Amazon, third-party new, and third-party used prices, including high, low, and average figures over time. An email address is used for alerts; site registration is optional. Its Camelizer extension documentation says an email is required for its watch function, while history features can be used without providing one.
camelcamelcamel lists support for Amazon locales in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Check the listing on Amazon before acting on a chart or alert: the service itself advises that price and availability data should be verified at the retailer. Use Keepa for charts and alerts on Amazon pages
Keepa’s Chrome Web Store listing describes price-history charts embedded on Amazon product pages, alerts for a price falling below a target or stock returning, and international price comparison. It lists Amazon marketplaces .com, .co.uk, .de, .co.jp, .fr, .ca, .it, .es, .in, and .mx, and says no account is required to start tracking. Before choosing, check whether the tracker follows the exact variant, whether its alert is based on a threshold or a general price drop, which price types appear in the chart, and whether you need an account, email, browser extension, or push permission. A history chart is context for your decision, not a buying recommendation.

- Compare like with like: An Amazon price, a third-party new offer, and a used offer are different price types. Make sure the chart reflects the offer you would actually buy.
- Check the seller and condition: A lower historical point may belong to another seller or condition than the current listing.
- Include shipping and other costs: A displayed offer can differ from the delivered total. Check shipping and handling at checkout.
- Verify the exact variant: A chart or watch for one size or configuration may not describe another.
- Recheck the live listing: A price can change between alert delivery and checkout, and an offer may sell out.

Privacy and notification considerations
Review the permissions and privacy information for any browser extension before installing it. The Camelizer page says the extension transmits the viewed Amazon or camelcamelcamel URL and page content needed to identify the product and price; if you provide an email, it is associated with requested alert watches. It also says the extension has no advertising, third-party analytics, or affiliate marketing links. Keepa’s store listing describes its permissions and data disclosures and links to its privacy policy. Check each service’s current disclosures rather than assuming trackers collect or retain the same information.

If alerts do not arrive, check the email address used for the watch, spam filters, and the app or browser’s notification permission. For Google, also confirm you are signed in and that the feature is available on the surface and device you are using.
