To stream a phone camera to YouTube with Larix Broadcaster, enable YouTube Live, copy the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio, combine them in a Larix connection, select video-plus-audio mode, and start publishing. Larix can support a long-running broadcast, but it is not a guaranteed 24/7 service: whether video continues depends on the phone, app platform, power, network and YouTube workflow.
Before you start: enable YouTube Live

In YouTube Studio, choose Create → Go Live. If this is your first time enabling live streaming, YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours.

Create a stream or select an existing one in Live Control Room. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Use the current values from this screen rather than relying on an example endpoint.

Keep the stream key private: it authorizes broadcasting to your channel. Do not show it in screenshots or share it publicly. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio before streaming.

Configure Larix Broadcaster
Add the YouTube connection

Open Larix Broadcaster settings and go to Connections, then add a connection.

Larix uses one Connection URL: the server URL from YouTube followed by a slash and the stream key. Softvelum’s documented example server is
rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2, so the format isserver-url/stream-key. Treat this as a format example only; use the server URL displayed for your stream in YouTube Live Control Room. -
Choose video plus audio for a normal camera broadcast. Confirm that the connection you just made is selected before you publish.
Choose RTMP or RTMPS
YouTube supports RTMPS, which encrypts the connection using TLS/SSL. If Live Control Room provides an RTMPS URL and your installed Larix version accepts it, use that URL. Otherwise, the documented RTMP setup is the basic route. Do not guess an RTMPS address; copy the one YouTube provides and verify encoder support.

Set video quality and bitrate for your connection
There is no single safe bitrate for every phone stream. Larix describes its configured bitrate as a target; network problems can cause frame loss, and adaptive-bitrate behavior depends on protocol and platform. Use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations as a starting point, then check that your phone’s resolution and frame rate are sustainable on the real upload connection. A high-quality setting is not useful if the uplink cannot maintain it.

Match the output resolution and frame rate to the scene and available upload capacity.

Check the bitrate guidance for your Larix version and chosen codec rather than treating vendor defaults as a universal YouTube requirement.

Test over the same Wi-Fi or mobile network you plan to use. Watch for dropped frames and unstable bitrate during a preflight.

Open the selected Larix connection and start publishing.

In YouTube Live Control Room, wait for the incoming preview or status to appear. If the stream is scheduled or requires manual confirmation, verify picture and sound before taking it live.

Monitor the stream briefly for dropped frames, interrupted audio or bitrate instability. A successful preview confirms the connection is arriving; it does not prove that the phone will stay connected indefinitely.
Can Larix keep a YouTube stream running 24/7?
Larix is a mobile camera encoder and supports YouTube Live as a destination, so it can send a long-running feed while the device remains operational and publishing. The available documentation does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 operation. For an unattended installation, validate power continuity, heat behavior, network resilience, app/device recovery after a restart and the complete YouTube workflow before relying on it.

Background streaming differs on Android and iOS

Android: Larix’s FAQ says it can continue streaming when in the background until the app is explicitly closed. Device and software behavior can vary, so test the actual phone and app version.

iOS: Larix documents that background mode cannot access the camera or encoder and allows audio only. Do not expect camera video to continue if you background the app or lock the phone; keep it foregrounded if video is required.

Understand YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” This is an archive rule, not evidence that every live session is forcibly stopped at 12 hours—and it is not a guarantee of an uninterrupted stream or archive beyond that duration.

End the stream safely

Stop publishing in Larix when the broadcast is finished.

End the stream in YouTube Studio where applicable, then check the Live Control Room to confirm its status.
Troubleshoot common problems

Video freezes or frames drop |
The configured bitrate may exceed what the current network can sustain, or the connection is unstable. |

Copy the exact URL supplied by YouTube, confirm the installed Larix version accepts it, and use the supported RTMP option if RTMPS is unavailable. |
When sharing a diagnostic screenshot, hide the stream key. If you regenerate the key in YouTube Studio, update the Larix connection as well.
