To accept credit-card tips for yourself, set up a Streamlabs tip page and connect the payment provider available to your account; Streamlabs says its tip-page card option requires a PayPal Business account. If you are raising money for a nonprofit, use a platform charity fundraiser instead: a tip paid to you and passed on later is not the same as a charitable donation.
First decide who should receive the payment
A creator tip is paid to you through a payment provider. A charitable donation should be made through a fundraiser designed to route money to the charity. The distinction matters for how viewers pay, how the platform presents the payment, and whether it is treated as a charitable donation. Twitch says money given to a streamer through donations, subscriptions, Bits, or similar tools and later donated by the streamer is not considered a charitable donation and is not tax deductible. Use a charity fundraising feature when the intended recipient is a charity. Twitch explains its charitable-donation options.

Set up a Streamlabs tip page for creator tips
- Create or sign in to Streamlabs. Open the Streamlabs dashboard for your account.
- Open the payment-method settings. Go to Settings > Donation Settings > Methods, choose a provider offered to your account, and follow its connection steps. Streamlabs’ setup guidance describes connecting the provider from this screen. See Streamlabs’ tipping setup guide.
- Connect PayPal Business for the Streamlabs card option. Streamlabs’ dedicated credit-card support article says a PayPal Business account must be connected in tip settings for credit-card tipping on its tip page. Provider options and availability can depend on your account and location; follow the current dashboard flow. Read Streamlabs’ credit-card setup instructions.
- Configure the tip page. If the controls are available for your account, set the minimum and suggested amounts, currency, and page details.
- Copy and share your tip-page link. Find the account’s tip-page URL in the dashboard. Add it to visible channel surfaces, such as a channel description or a Twitch panel, so viewers can reach it.
- Check the viewer-facing page before promoting it. Open the link and confirm that the displayed payment options, currency, and recipient are the ones you intend. Do not assume a payment option is available to every viewer or in every country.
Protect your personal information
Streamlabs’ May 2026 quick guide recommends using a PayPal Business account to help keep a creator’s real name and personal information hidden from viewers. That is not a guarantee of anonymity: review PayPal’s current account, profile, and receipt settings before sharing the page, and check what information a viewer sees during checkout.

Check card availability and fees before you share the link
Streamlabs’ Stripe Tipping FAQs list the following countries as supported for its credit-card tip/donation option: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Japan is also listed. If your country is not supported for this option, Streamlabs says to use another available method, such as PayPal. The account’s current setup screen is the practical check for what you can enable. Check Streamlabs’ Stripe Tipping FAQs.

The same FAQ quotes a standard card-processing fee of 2.9% + US$0.30, while noting that actual fees vary with the countries of the streamer and donor. Treat that as Streamlabs’ stated standard, not a universal or guaranteed rate; confirm the current terms that apply to your account and transactions. Streamlabs says it does not take a cut and that creators pay payment-processing fees, but that is the vendor’s description of its service.
Use a charity fundraiser when the charity should receive donations
Twitch Charity
Twitch’s Charity tool is designed for fundraising for a charity. Twitch says its tool lets viewers donate by card or PayPal, presents a “Donate to Charity” button during a fundraiser, and does not take a cut of donations. Start the fundraiser through Twitch’s Charity tool rather than collecting creator tips and later passing them on. Confirm the tool and charity are available for your account before announcing a campaign. Review Twitch’s charitable-donation guidance.

Streamlabs Charity
Streamlabs’ charity setup guidance describes creating a charity account, selecting a registered charity, creating a campaign with a title, description, date, and goal, publishing it, and sharing the campaign tip page. It also describes linking the campaign to a Streamlabs account for charity alerts. Streamlabs says its goal is to send 100% of each donation to the charity; that is the platform’s stated goal, not an independent audit finding. See Streamlabs’ tipping guide for creator tips; check Streamlabs’ current charity setup flow in its platform before launching a campaign.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- The credit-card option is missing: Streamlabs says a PayPal Business account is required for credit-card tipping on its tip page. Confirm that the connected account and setup meet that requirement, then check whether the card option is supported in your country.
- Your country is not listed for Streamlabs’ Stripe option: Use another payment method shown as available in your account, such as PayPal, rather than promising card checkout.
- A viewer cannot use the payment option you expected: Provider availability and fees can vary by the streamer’s and donor’s countries. Check the provider terms and the live viewer-facing page before promoting it broadly.
- A charity Donate button is unavailable: Charity features have platform and beneficiary eligibility requirements. Check the current Twitch or YouTube help page and confirm the campaign is enabled for the specific account and charity.
- Viewers think a creator tip is tax-deductible: Label the link as a tip if the money goes to you. If the goal is a charitable donation, use an appropriate charity fundraising feature and communicate who receives the funds.
- You are concerned your real name may appear: Review payment-account profile and receipt settings, and inspect the viewer-facing checkout flow. A Business account recommendation is not a promise that every identifying detail is hidden.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your setup includes a prerecorded YouTube stream, StreamNeo can keep it running from uploaded videos without leaving a computer or home connection on. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; it loops the uploaded video in the cloud, not a camera feed. It supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and includes a free first day with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only. See StreamNeo or start the free first day.
