Before you start, identify your exact Eufy model: setup, mapping, and app controls differ between robot families. For the models covered here, the reliable first-map pattern is to prepare the rooms, start the robot at the station or base specified for that model, leave it undisturbed while it maps, and let it return to save the map. Check your robot’s label and matching manual or Eufy support page before following model-specific steps.
Before mapping, check your model and prepare the rooms
Eufy does not use one universal first-run procedure for every RoboVac. The X9 Pro, X8 Pro Series, and X10 Pro Omni instructions differ in how mapping starts and whether cleaning follows it. The map-editing steps below are specifically for the X9 Pro; the Wi-Fi note is specifically for the S1 Pro.

- Confirm the model name. Check the label on the robot, then find the matching manual or support page. Use its station, app, and mapping instructions rather than assuming another Eufy model works the same way.
- Open the doors to the rooms you want included in the map.
- Pick up loose objects such as cables and toys that could trap or entangle the robot.
Start mapping the way your model specifies
X9 Pro
Place the X9 Pro on its Auto-Clean Station and activate it as directed. Eufy says the robot explores without cleaning during the mapping process. Do not move it while it maps; let it return to the station so it can save a complete map. Eufy’s X9 Pro mapping instructions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesX8 Pro Series
Start the X8 Pro Series robot on its Self-Empty Station or Charging Base as instructed. Its Quick Mapping process explores without cleaning. Leave the robot in place while it maps and allow it to return to the base so the map can be saved. Eufy estimates about 5–10 minutes to Quick Map a 1,000-square-foot home; that is a model-specific estimate, not a guaranteed time for every home. Eufy’s X8 Pro Series mapping instructions.
#1 Best Overall
- 1. Compact and Quiet Operation: With a slim 2.85" profile, the eufy robot vacuum operates quietly, offering a comprehensive clean without causing a disturbance, making it perfect for use at any hour.
- 2. Extended Cleaning Performance: Capable of running up to 100 minutes on hardwood floors, the eufy vacuum robot provides powerful, consistent suction for a thorough clean at a noise level similar to a microwave.
- 3. Adaptive Suction Power for Different Surfaces: BoostIQ Technology adjusts suction within 1.5s for optimal cleaning on any surface.
- 4. Superior Protection and Efficiency: The eufy robot vacuum comes with an anti-scratch tempered glass-top cover, infrared-sensor for evading obstacles, and drop-sensing tech, ensuring a safe, efficient clean while self-recharging to stay ready.
- 5. Note: The 11s Max does not support WiFi or app connectivity; all operations are performed using the remote control and the buttons on the device.
X10 Pro Omni
Place the X10 Pro Omni on its Omni Station. On first start, it initiates Quick Mapping; once mapping completes, it proceeds to home cleaning. Do not manually move it during mapping, and let it return to the Omni Station automatically to save a complete map. Eufy’s X10 Pro Omni mapping instructions.
Let the robot finish and save its map
Keep the robot and station where they are until the mapping run is complete and the robot has returned. Moving the robot can disrupt mapping or saving. If a map does not appear, check whether the robot started at the station or base required by its instructions and whether it was allowed to return there without being moved. Also consider whether the station’s position or surroundings changed during the run.

Review the map and start cleaning
After the map is saved, open it in the eufy Clean app and check that the rooms you wanted are represented. Available map controls depend on the model and app version; do not assume every Eufy robot supports the same edits.
X9 Pro map controls
Eufy’s X9 Pro app guidance describes merging adjacent rooms, splitting a room, naming rooms, and drawing virtual boundaries, No-Go Zones, or No-Mop Zones. It also describes Auto and Room cleaning modes and per-room settings. These controls are documented for the X9 Pro; confirm availability in the instructions for other models. Start the first clean
Use the cleaning controls for your exact model in the app. On the X10 Pro Omni, cleaning follows Quick Mapping on the first start. On the X9 Pro, Eufy’s app guide describes Auto and Room modes; choose the mode and room settings shown for your robot.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Mapping another floor
Eufy’s cited support pages describe Multi-Map Saving with up to five maps for the X9 Pro, X8 Pro Series, and X10 Pro Omni. That limit is specific to those documented product families, not a universal Eufy specification. The X9 Pro guidance says to move the station to the new floor or area when creating another map. Check your model’s instructions before relocating a station or assuming it supports saved maps for multiple floors.

- 𝐀𝐥𝐥-𝐢𝐧-𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲, 𝐌𝐨𝐩 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡 & 𝐃𝐫𝐲: The Omni Station automatically empties dust into a large 3.1 L bag (up to 60 days*), washes and dries mop pads with room-temperature air (just 1.56W/hr)—you never touch a dustbin or mop pad. Transparent tanks show clean and dirty water levels at a glance, so you always know when to top up. *Based on a 3-person household without pets; intervals vary.

If setup or mapping does not go as expected
The map was not saved
- Verify that the robot started at the station or base required by its model’s instructions.
- Let the mapping run finish and allow the robot to return automatically; do not carry or manually reposition it during the run.
- Check whether the station’s position or the surrounding area changed.
The robot cannot connect to Wi-Fi
Eufy’s S1 Pro troubleshooting page specifies a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection for that model and recommends checking the password and signal, then using a 2.4 GHz band before resetting Wi-Fi settings. This is S1 Pro guidance, not a confirmed requirement for every Eufy robot. Eufy’s S1 Pro Wi-Fi troubleshooting page.

What these first-run steps do—and do not—establish
The preparation and return-to-station principles above are supported for the X9 Pro, X8 Pro Series, and X10 Pro Omni. Eufy’s broader guide also notes that mapping support and features depend on the model. For another Eufy robot, use its matching instructions to confirm whether it creates a saved map, how its first mapping run works, which app edits it supports, and whether it can store maps for more than one floor.
